Friendly, helpful staff, clean facilities, nice pool, many time slots for water aerobics and swimming, well equipped gym.
Variety of group exercise classes and instructors
Clean and well kept facility. Fitness center is clean and offers a wide variety of equipment for both cardio, resistance and strength training. The gentleman (Alan) at the front desk provided excellent customer service during my visit. Plenty of parking outside and no trash in parking lot like at Bryan YMCA. The pool is heated, clean and most days there is no issue getting a lane for lap swimming. This Y location is excellent. Finally, I like the rules around not allowing open drinks such as Starbucks cups inside the exercise areas. Keep up the good work!

Need a sauna
Love the track above the gym. Just wish Ragsdale YMCA had a steam room like the High Point Y has.
Awesome gym equipment, pool is never crowded, walking track is nice… just a good place to do a lot of different sports/activities
The pool space at this facility is awesome. The facility overall is clean and is my preferred location.
We love how there is thought put into each day of the summer and winter day camps for kids. It is always structured and fun!
My favorite pool to visit of all YMCA facilities I have been to. Great wellness area with equipment in good shape!

Convenience of location, cleanliness, equipment and many activities to choose from daily.
I think there are definitely good things to choose from. The Barre class was not beginner or first time friendly, but I would like to try another class one day.
I am also interested in trying the balance board pool class but it only happens when I'm at work. Maybe one day I can make it :)

My son takes swimming lessons at the YMCA, and we’ve had a great experience. The instructors are patient, professional, and excellent with kids, always prioritizing safety while making the classes engaging and fun. The facilities are clean and well maintained, and we’ve seen a big improvement in my son’s confidence and swimming skills. I highly recommend the YMCA for children’s swimming lessons.

The aqua fitness classes are my favorite! The instructors are great and it's a great way to get in a good workout while protecting joints. It's soothing and stimulating at the same time. I look forward to rejoining the class in the spring.
They are a great well to build community and promote wellness!
The competition is friendly and my kids learn skills like sportsmanship and working together as well as the actual sport.
The coaching and organization of it all
I just recently joined deep water aerobics. I’ve had fusion surgery and am finding the class fun and helping to strengthen my core as well as every other part of me. Debbie is great! When I first arrived she asked me why I was joining the class. I thought that was great! I like that she is on the pool deck so you can see the moves and she can see you if you doing the moves incorrectly.
I don’t care for an instructor who is leading the class and asking what each participants favorite exercise is every class and using that for the entire class. They should have a plan. We are paying for someone to lead.

Love that there are activities for all fitness levels and age groups in a friendly supportive environment.
Using the gym at Ragsdale, managed by Julie, has seriously made a positive impact on my life.
Fitquest- three, 30 minute sessions with Julie to learn how to use the machines properly gave me the confidence to get started. I worked with a personal trainer there for 3 months and the results have been so rewarding. I’m now a strong senior lady.
