Clean. Trainers are great. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
Water Aerobics
I enjoy the facility as whole and utilize the fitness equipment (treadmills, weights etc). However what keeps me the most engaged is Pilates. I have taken classes with Mary, Pam and with Kara. I also invest in private instruction with Kara to help me with specific goals and to help me identify components/areas I need to work on to improve my overall practice. She is incredibly patient and supportive, particularly when I doubt myself. She knows when to push me a little harder and when to make adaptations. Pilates outside of the Y is cost prohibitive and often utilizes instructors who do not have the level of expertise/experience that the Y team has. (I have several friends who are “instructors” after 6 week courses and charge $40-50 for an hour group class.). As a “mature” 50+ female, I know that I am at an increased risk of falls, which can lead to bigger issues. Pilates has helped me improve my core strength and stability overall. I would take classes 5 days a week if there were classes I could attend 5 days a week!
It's nice to swim in a pool.
Selection of equipment including steam room. Sauna, and hot tub.
I go to the Y because I love water aerobics classes! You have excellent teachers for all the Aqua Fitness classes. Thank you so much!

I loved the Pilates program. The instructor that you have now since Mary left is not as observant and does exercises that has hurt me. I have been in this program for over 3 years and this will probably be my last. In the past Pilates has helped me
Pickleball and the hot sauna are my favs
Clean friendly. Well staffed. A great place.

I love the Whitaker Y it is always clean. Staff is always friendly! I feel very safe.
I just went to this YMCA with my grandson for the first time. Staff was friendly upon arrival. We were disappointed as we came to use the pool slide as it was said in the website it was to be opened at 4:00, but it was not. I asked both life guards on duty and one said she was about 95% it would be open later. An hour later, I asked the other life guard on duty and he said it was closed for the day. Another half hour later it did opened. Just was disappointed that the lifeguards were uninformed and the YMCA had not updated the schedule on the website.
I like the walking track and the posted directions.
In the swimming pool there are always lanes for free swimming.
I like the notifications through the App; however, a lot of the early morning pool closures don't get posted which means driving to the YMCA and walking in to find out the pool is closed. The pool swims are the only reason I joined the Y.
I njoy the employees, the facility is always clean, love the availability of classes and the instructors r the best, it’s just a great overall environment
Structure, organized.
The Y app on my phone is my new best friend! I love setting my schedule a week ahead and signing up for the notifications when things change is awesome! Winning! I drive from Berea weekly to take advantage of all the assets of a Y membership.
Professional staff and always friendly and ready to help. They offer wonderful exercise programs for seniors and have created a nice social group environment. The facility is always clean and sanitary. I always enjoy working out at the Whitaker YMCA. I recommend it to everyone!
