From my first phone contact through yesterday's Meet and Greet with my two terriers, one of whom has fearfulness issues, to their socialization time after that "audition," to the invitation to come back a couple more times just to ease the pups' mind and get them used to the place, to today's visit -- it's all been 100% professional, friendly, reliable.
Dogtopia on Portland's South Waterfront looks to me exactly like the place I would design - physical plant as well as staffing and protocol - if I knew how to do that.
Yeah, it's been only two days, but I really really really appreciate the extra time and care and compassion the staff has shown my furry kids. They had not been around other dogs much and didn't learn social skills. I hope and trust they are on their way to correcting this through fun playtimes at Dogtopia.
Cameras and location
Everything! The texting option has been SO useful for quick communication. The staff are incredibly kind, receptive, and quick to respond. The rooms are sanitized numerous times throughout the day. Staff follows all instructions and provide us awesome report cards. Webcam feature is so comforting (and entertaining). Service is all-around flawless.
Great location in our neighborhood. Very friendly staff. Took great care of our dog. She didn’t smell like she spent a day at a kennel.
The facility was nice and clean and the people were friendly. I feel safe leaving my dog there.
I love how clean it is and that I can check in on my dog any time through the webcams! Everyone is so nice here. They are super communicative about everything going on at the daycare, they truly care about and LOVE all the dogs! I know my dog is safe when he is here.

We felt that we were treated warmly, and efficiently and that our dog would be well taken care of, as indeed she was.
They are very informative and don't make you feel like a crazy dog mom. Everything is super clean and the dogs are constantly being watched.

I really appreciate the webcams and being able to see my pup play and have fun throughout the day. I love how clean the space is and the staff are super attentive to making sure all the pups have a great experience. They have such fun themed play days and treats and I know my guy can't wait to go play every time I bring him in.
I like the personalized touches (wrote my pup’s name on the board on his first day).
The live webcams definitely make me feel confident in how you guys handle the dogs.
Touring the facility was nice, everything looked and smelled super clean.
My only real complaint is that the room they’re in is a little small. Even when empty, it’s not long enough for dogs to really run at full stride, and with 15-20 dogs in that room it’s a little cramped, and the play styles dogs engage in are so different from what I see at larger dog parks. Maybe this is by design - I’m not an expert. If there is an advantage to keeping rooms small, maybe add that info to your welcome booklet or tour?

Everyone is highly trained, compassionate, and love what they do so I know I feel safe and at ease dropping my dog off each day. I also love that my dog is wiped down before being picked up from daycare, such a nice unexpected treat.
The staff is great and it does feel like they honestly care about all the pups.

You have a wonderful group of staff members. They are always cheerful, bright and welcoming. To top it off it takes me less than two minutes to get there with my dog Ginger. We love it.
