Friendliness
The Y is a great value! There is so much that is offered and I like the variety all in one place. Also, I love that most of the classes are included in the membership price!
I really enjoy the staff and people that exercise in the gym & classes with me! I like to take water aerobics—especially deep water aerobics! It’s hard to find a pool with a deep end!
Great customer service. Kind , considerate. Listen well and remember patrons

I like the warm pool, I like the work out rooms, Izzy's class is always fantastic.
I enjoy the group classes where the instructors are knowledgeable and push you to be you to be your best.
I use the Y for water aerobics. Best therapy in town. They have available classes with wide variety of times to go. You won’t find this at any other gym !!!
I participate in water aerobics and a balance class. Each of them in staffed by a highly qualified individual. You can't beat the Y for the great courses it offers.
Swim aerobics
It's only my second visit to the Y and I used the pool for the first time today. It was awesome!!!!! The lifeguards were knowledgeable and friendly. The pool was wonderful! I have procrastinated so long to get in a community pool which I know benefits me both physically and mentally. Thank you for making my first dive a "good" experience!.
And, I participated in the Sunday yoga class for the first time. Instructor James is very awesome! There is no other yoga instructor as caring and dedicated as this man in this geographic area. I entrust him with my yoga experience to the Ump Degree!
The friendlyness of the people the coffee and the pool. Just wish it were a little warmer (pool) and stay that way for the winter.
Swim aerobics clean locker room friendly staff!!
The Senior Fitness Class
The facilities and staff are top notch: clean, friendly, well-run.
The absolutely only suggestion I have is that the swim class instructor on Monday mornings be more engaged with her class. She's a lovely person but she's so busy chatting with the people around her that, this week in particular, half the class drifted off and were chatting and doing their own thing, and I wasn't the only one who commented on her lack of engagement.
On the other hand, I had Cindy for the first time on Weds last week and she is totally engaged and running a tight ship. It was a great workout and everyone was on board.
That said, all of your staff are really nice.
Clean, nice atmosphere, nice people
Staff and trainers
Consistently good experiences.
Clean, good equipment, good hours, nice staff, thank you!
The Monday Pilates class at the Boll Y was amazing because it is challenging. The Pilates class on Tuesday at the South Oakland Y sucks because it is not at all challenging and the woman who leads it tries to say, "Oh it may not feel like you are working, but you are" is wrong. But I still give you a 10 because there are other classes and thing to do there. Also, I like the pool hours and machines. the hours are great.
So worth having a membership. Very clean. Staff really helpful. I give this facility a ten
I just love the quaint, yet abundant offerings the Y has to offer! VERY FRIENDLY AND EAGER TO HELP STAFF!
Although you don't accept Silver Sneakers in 2025 (Booooo,) I have had good experience with exercise and water aerobics there. I will have to go where Silver Sneakers is accepted going forward.
You do your best to make coming possible if you struggle financially. Everyone is friendly and the chair yoga classes are great, except when we're over crowded or when Pat talks too much and we lose out on our yoga time.
Meagan is just the sweetest, most helpful person ever! Building is always so super clean.
Everyone at the ymca is professional courteous and helpful. The classes are great. They are very patient with senior citizens. My grandson plays basketball there in open gym. We have the family plan. I would recommend the ymca for everyone
The friendly staff the cleanest the pool is kept up i just started this week so, these are the few things that caught my eye keep up the good work 👏
My overall experience is always good. Recently Sarah Ayotte left the Y and a new person was brought in. It has been several weeks and I still don't know his name. He should have stuck his head in to classes and group sessions and introduced himself. Even placed a sign at the front desk with his name, picture and something about him. They do that when a new a new personal trainer starts, why not someone who is in management? This something even the trainers have commented on.
