The staff is incredible overall....friendly and helpful.....I have trained with Mark Losinski in several personal training classes, along with being active in his Rock Steady boxing classes. Mark is passionate about helping others...he explains why we do what we do.....he makes classes fun too. In several personal training sessions with Mark, I was always grateful for his explanations of what exercises helped different parts of the body. The Macomb YMCA is very lucky to have someone as knowledgeable as he is.

The coaches. My daughter was the only kid to show up and instead of canceling class he worked with her and allowed her to play soccer! That was a big confidence boost for her. She enjoyed it and as a parent I’m happy with her experience. Thank you!
Great staff, exercise equipment is complete and always in working order, they offer important self improvement classes. The facilities are always clean.
Friendly staff
John Boomhower was my small group personal trainer during the Fall of 2025. John is knowledgeable, caring and his workout designs were perfect for me. I have purchased more training sessions with John and recommend him to my friends.

I do group exercises on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All instructors are different and they each bring something different to the classes. Everyone at the front desk and the other employees and volunteers are friendly and willing to help.

Great classses
I love the new class John is teaching about Senior Strength. It's both challenging and rewarding. John has an easy-going style and at the same time we're always moving. I come to this class for that, for the challenge and the sense that I am working to my full potential. Please keep this class.
I have friends I've made at the Y and that also makes the Y special for me. I have supportive, encouraging, fun friends. The staff is the same--supportive and fun. Perhaps what I love the most about our Y is the fact that everyone counts, no one is overlooked or made to feel they don't belong. That loving acceptance is without price, and not available in many places.

I appreciate the flexibility of the trainers. Sessions are design around the individual schedule and so are the workouts are geared to target the areas discussed during the assessment.

The staff at the Macomb YMCA is awesome! That in itself keeps us coming back 4+ times a week. The people that we’ve met at the Y are very nice and helpful. The equipment is clean, the building is clean, from what we’ve used, and the pool has been great for our girls swim classes. Overall a great place.
Thank you for fixing the HVAC for mens and Studio B. Pool looks crystal clear.
