Member Testimonials
The YMCA has a wide selection of group exercise classes, equipment, free weights and stretching areas for working out. Basketball, swimming and other activities available as well. Reasonable cost for a family membership. Safe and clean facility. We go at off peak times so it's typically not crowded which is a concern during the COVID pandemic.
I love the Y
Love the flexibility, great program, events, camps and flexibility to visit other YMCAs!
Nice facilities, good programming, mice people and reasonable family membership fee.
Joe is amazing with the kids! He recognizes when the kids need assistance or when they are ready to be challenged. Our son has fully gone from bubble to noodle to nothing all with the help of Joe’s patience and persistence all while making the lesson so much fun for the kids!!!
Friendly, pleenty of activity choices and convenient location
We love the teachers! Miss Beth in KR2 has been excellent. The class is lucky to have her.

Awesome place to go to exercise
The organization took my feedback about there being too many children in each swim class abs added additional staff/re-shuffled the groups to make them more equitable. Much appreciated.
Fun and engaging for toddlers
Clean environment, friendly and patient
The Y has made a huge difference in my daughter’s swimming skills. I’m so grateful I can be more confident about my daughter in the pool this summer! Joe is the best :)
My daughter loves gymnastics. The coaches are all great- knowledgeable, fun, and supportive. The gymnastics center at the Sterling YMCA has everything she needs and accommodates many gymnasts working at different levels.
Coaches are excellent.
Safety has a high priority.
Basketball, basketball skills, Esports, vacation camps and drills and floor hockey. We are enjoying Coach Jeff and Coach Matt. Thanks for a great program!
Instructor Maddy Saunders is amazing!
I love that the class wasn't canceled for low numbers. It gave my son individualized attention and also gave the boys more options on drills to work on or that they felt needed improvement.
lots of options and times.
works well for my schedule.
friendly staff :-)
The Y could improve their efforts toward sustainability. Reduce single use plastics-encourage refilling water bottles instead of single use water bottles. No more balloons…

The Greater Beverly YMCA is a wonderful organization! They offer free classes to members and serve the community. I play pickleball, lift weights, and do spinning classes. Can't recommend them enough!

Love the kids club, and numbers classes throughout the day
I love the facility, the classes and the kindness and professionalism of the staff!
Since the Sterling center has been under new management I have seen so many family friendly events and informational set-ups happening
Staff have been much more visible and friendly.
Please keep up the good work! I have been a member there for a very long time and I’m so happy the Y is really feeling like a place I want to be.
The Y is more than a gym, or a pool, or a daycare. It is a community. You are welcomed each time you enter, and welcomed back when you have been away. It is a place where all families are welcomed, no matter their socio-economic status. I was discussing the cost of the Y recently with a friend, and I mentioned that it was much more costly than some area gyms and workout locations. She reminded me of something very important when she said that she feels that part of her monthly payment is to support those who might not otherwise be able to take advantage of the facilities and programs. It is her way to secure this opportunity for future generations. And she is right!

Very nice complex! Reasonable rates.

Everything is top notch. The equipment, the classes, the personnel. I also appreciate that the Y is inclusive. That is very important to me.
The Y gives back a lot to its members. Even small thinga like the Giving Tree at holiday. I'm sure it can be a hassle sometimes to organize things but my life is busy so this makes it easy for me to remember others in need. Thank you to all at my wonderful Beverly Y.
