keeps kids busy and make it fun for kids.
Great program and Tim Bakker does a great job running it
Thought it was a great program to keep our daughter golfing. So much fun and encouragement.
The coaches were absolutely wonderful with the kids. My two were brand new to the sports and what they learned in such a short period was phenomenal. Great communication from the coaches as well. Can’t wait until next season.
Makes golf fun
The positive environment and opportunity to play 9 holes of golf consistently each Sunday night with kids their relative age. I do wish they’d rotate where they play in the area more. My son plays at Jackson 5/7 times and I wish he was exposed to a couple more courses for matches.
The kids learn to appreciate the game and learn some basic skills, respect for other players, and etiquette rules as well.
I really enjoyed the attention that they gave the kids and the skills that they worked on. PGA junior league not only taught the kids social skills on how to be successful as a human being.
PGA Jr. League was a great start for my son to learn golf and golf etiquette.
The young golfers are able to mentor younger kids and make friends with people at their ability level!
I love that younger inexperienced players get paired with older players and can still contribute. The 3-hole matches for “flags” is brilliant too.
Fun for all levels.
Very friendly and dedicated staff
Thank you Chambers Bay for another year of great Jr League! My girls both had a wonderful time playing and making new friends! Welcome Coach Matt!
It’s a great time and very good instruction for the kids.
It's fun!
The chance to play against other kids and see and play on different courses in our area.
It is a great way to introduce kids into competing in golf in a low- stress atmosphere. All the parents were supportive of all the kids, whether they were on the same team or not. The only suggestion I would have is to have the kids actually play some holes during practice instead of just hitting at the range and putting/chipping green.
Eagle Point Golf Course in Eagle Point, OR is exceptional with their program. Very generous with their time, resources and course, great with the kids, and very knowledgeable in golf and team sports. Scott, Logan, Dave and the rest of the staff and owners should be saluted and thanked for their efforts and commitment. My daughter has benefited from the experience and still has one more year to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Final thought: for the amount of money we pay to join the league we get a ton of value out of it. Thanks again EPGC and PGA Jr League.
Love that the older kids partner up with the younger kids to help teach how to act on the golf course. Good for the littles and builds leadership skills for the older kids as well.
My kid loves it, and he’s learning the game.
Coach Troy was very patient with the juniors. He taught them skills while making it fun.
It got my daughter out to try a new thing and play different courses. She made a friend. The coach was really nice.
Great program.
1. Yet the program seems to be too afraid of interfering with other things like, say, little league baseball or summer schedules for families. The one practice a week is “fun” but insignificant to develop a golf game. “Fun” can also be achieved through expecting greater commitment.
2. A culture of flexibility to accommodate different levels of commitment could be created as well. Such as, offer each family two weeks of absences throughout the summer, if needed.
3. Also, we were not impressed when coaches made kids rotate out for three of the nine holes each week. This occurred because of uneven teams. It further weakened the golf experience for those kids; including ours. My opinion is, every kid should be able to play every shot on every hole, even if their ball is picked up and doesn’t count for scoring. While parents and family attending to support a participate are respectful of decisions like this, it is irritating to realize their child isn’t getting the golf experience. After all, golf is not a team sport.
4. And if PGA Youth desires to be a team sport, it should step up the expectations required of kids to actually develop a “team.” Kids will better understand sacrifices like “sitting on the bench” easier if they are practicing together more often. I’m not being sarcastic or cutting. I think it would make a giant difference if the practice expectations or on-course policies were slightly rebalanced one direction or the other. Currently, it feels a little unbalanced.
5. The course pro’s have everything to gain if they adjust their priorities to a younger generation. Not only will they be developing the future, they will be capturing their parents and families. This is the exact demographic I imagine many participating pros could get excited about rather than being forever cursed with dealing with the snobby pompous cliche golfer in their 60’s-80’s. Wink.
6. I give the program a 10, not because of perfection, but because of current level of excellence attained. Great work. Great people. Great coaches. Great community. I understand the fine line in creating a program that allows for both fun and learning, but I believe things could still be refined for a better overall experience for children and their families.
7. Overall, well done. We appreciate your work and ongoing consideration to make PGA Youth even better. My best to you. -Scott Last name removed
It was a relaxed and fun environment for my kids.
Excellent coaching
We love it. So much fun!
I loved that it allowed my child to get out and play different courses and with different kids. I also liked that my child had to work with another child to figure out their best shot and which clubs to use without the help of an adult.
Great program all around!

Fun experience for our daughter to learn more about the game of golf and compete in a casual environment.
