Coach Testimonials
I like helping the kids develop their skills. It is wonderful to see them use what they have learned in the PGA Jr League matches. They live for it!
Great experience and value to the kids
Everything about it is great!
What are the things I like most about our program, is the kids who are too old to participate who have played in the past come back and help out the younger kids, they caddy, encourage, and help make the younger kids feel welcome and a part of the team.
The team aspect and the players fellowship amongst each other, as well
The kids and parents love it.
It’s the best way I’ve seen to get young new golfers, experienced young golfers to come together and play, improve and have fun.
Good way for kids to make friends
It's a great all-inclusive program
PGA Jr League is a fantastic program.
I have coached a team every year since 2016.
I recommend it every chance I get.

We like the format for the juniors, the uniforms and swag. We do not like the all-star team format for the playoffs.
It’s a non pressure atmosphere where children are able to compete, learn rules, learn to be social and to behave on and off the course. The older children in the pro Dean can help mentor they other participants.
The format
Promotes team play in a slightly competitive environment. Great step before PGA junior events
Great program that provides a wonderful learning environment for juniors.
What I like about PGA Junior League is the confidence the kids gain in their golf games. How older kids 13, help the kids who are closer to the age of nine and 10.
My only criticism is the All-Star team. I would like to see the League winners play against each other. Not allowing the winning team from the league to have three players, and then having one player from each other team.
Great format to introduce juniors to competitive golf! Allows older/more experienced players to mentor younger/less experienced players. Fun between clubs.
Great program
It brings kid into the game that otherwise may be to intimidated to play.
Wonderful program and something that I wish was around when I was a junior.
Great program, fun for all! Coaches, parents and players
This is, in my opinion, the best youth development program put out by the PGA. Of course, it takes a lot of hard work, time and enthusiasm to do it right and make it successful but it’s so worth it when you see kids falling in love with the game. The beautiful thing about PGA Junior League is that it is a team-based program, something unique to a game that is, for the most part, a singular sport. Kids get to learn how to play golf by playing golf with other kids while developing a team mentality and working together for a common goal. Life and golf all rolled together.
There is not one specific reason why I love coaching and educating children. It is a combination of things. It's the daily laughter, smiles, and joy of a child that is so contagious. Education is a beautiful thing. It is amazing to see little minds grow and be able to have the chance to mold the next generation. Every day is a new adventure.
Young people keep you on your toes daily with so many unexpected things. You have to have a balance of when to push, when to relax, when to inspire. There are days you have to exercise a little bit more forgiveness and a whole lot more patience. Not every day is a picnic, of course. But, then a parent will tell you that, by being a part of your PGA JR League team, you’ve changed their child’s whole outlook on how they perceive themselves. Or when one of “my kids” tells me that I am the “best coach ever”, it makes you realize that this job is bigger than just teaching kids how to swing a golf club.
That's what I love about the PGA Jr. League!
It is a great way for kids to learn valuable life lessons.
It was about the junior golfers, and it was focused on fun
The biggest thing we like is the player friendly format. We like that kids of different abilities can contribute during every match. It helps get those that are not advanced a taste of competition.
The one thing we do not like is that the playoffs are all-star teams. This goes against everything I believe this league is about. The league is about giving a large group of golfers at any level of ability a fair format they can all contribute. Creating an all-star team for the playoff tells those of lesser ability they are only welcome during the regular season. It just seems to contradict the mission of PGA Jr League. I know that many of my fellow professionals in the Dakota Chapter of the Minnesota Section feel the same way I feel.

It's about the kids. It's a time for them to build friendships and bond with one another. They also get to play and meet kids from other golf courses. It's a great way to play competitive golf in a fun and friendly atmosphere
I like that juniors of all abilities can participate. The help and encouragement from the Junior teammates and opponents is rest to see.
The kids love it!

Love everything about the format and the idea of it. The problems I have are:
1) There needs to be some sort of expedited process for getting shirts and other stuff for juniors. Often times we can't get a team together until June, by which time we won't get the shirts in time. I am still waiting for half my teams shirts.
2) Getting clubs to committ to days and times to play.
