Silver sneakers exercise class is all I’ve attended. I like it.
Pool is kept clean, life guards conduct themselves professionally. Facility down side is no towel service.
Swim lesson indoor is great for our kids
I go for the pool which is well maintained and kept to a good temperature for working out. The staff are very pleasant and easy to communicate with.
I love the YMCA. My kids love the pools and my husband loves the fitness center.
The child watch hours and caregivers are great.
The personal training is affordable and personal trainer DeRon is flexible and very respectful.
I would love to have a meeting at which plans could be made to develop the lake again. The lake was forgotten and ignored which led to its total destruction. Cost could be held to a minimum to rebuild the dam. It has built-in protection in the event of a flood but it’s been completely neglected In the past. This is sadning.
Enjoy the flexibility of activities and the variety of things to do. Many of my friends also attend the Trotter YMCA also.
Lots of times & variety.
Staff friendly. I like variety of activities and the fact that Y remains open on holidays even though they might close early.
friendliness of participants in senior classes
Always a positive environment.
The weight room has a variety of weights and machines and actually has adequate space for numerous people to work out at the same time.
super clean and spacious showers and dressing area on a regular basis.
Vet. meeting, meeting friends my age, weight and workout programs
The 630 and 730 classes for mobility led by non-employees are a God-send for me!
The teachers/callers are very dedicated to keeping our M-F or M, W, F classes going and we appreciate this arrangement.
I also attend the Silver Sneakers classes, which tho all are good, each instructor is unique in their approach to keeping us moving!
I also like being able to use the heated (dry Sauna!) room.
Last, but not by any means least, I like the coffee!:)
The heated indoor swimming pool.
Clean facility with a professional staff that is always helpful
Group schedules allow several classes without an extensive wait
The staff is awesome! Front desk makes you so welcome!!! Loving the Zumba here!
At this time, I work out on the machines only. They're always working......clean....and plenty of them for everyone. The personal is always friendly and helpful, if needed.
Swimming area
I enjoy the instructors and having them to follow along!
Very friendly staff and wonderful programs available for adults and kids.
Love the warm water pool exercises for seniors.
Clean, and enjoy the deep water exercises every day.
You have something for everyone!
various classes and great scheduling; nice and warm instructors; great personal trainers
I enjoy the diversity in all types of ways...race, age, capabilities and perspectives. I enjoy the programs for the young and the old. I appreciate the commitment to safety in the water at the Y and in the community. I appreciate the connections that are a win-win with the SBISD making our community a better place to live.
The staff continues to improve in their commitment to keeping this facility clean, up to date and welcoming for all. The latest Director is the best we have seen since we opened and is often seen walking the facility, as are his direct reports. The fitness center is ever evolving and morphing into the changing latest fitness craze. The swimming lesson program is finally catching fire through the hiring of good instructors. The Dragons Swim Team seems to be benefiting from our association with SBISD and the Natatorium. The Masters swimming program is not available for those who work as practices are only during the day and not in the morning, noon or night, but it is available. The fitness supervisors in the fitness area seem to be working more with the members and looking less at their phones. This used to be a problem, along with sleeping guards at the swim pool, but not any more.
It is a loss for the fields we were once so blessed. It will be fine as long as we continue to have space to manage the childcare summer and holiday programs without drastically modifying the current programs of the seniors and fitness groups. Our youth sports programs need to find a new home, but this might be able to be arranged within our SBISD partnership or developing our schools and churches to help us continue to adequately provide these programs.
Our Duncan Y is a shining light within our community. It has competition. But, its core values are helpful as pillars for growth. Profit is not one of those pillars and should not be overvalued as we go forth. Our future right now is bright, but it has taken a lot of work within the organization to get it right in this uniquely diverse community.
Kids fit, swimming lessons, the child watch
Love the pool and weight room
I like zumba , body pump

I like the way that the equipment is maintained. It could be a little faster for repair work but I assume that is the contractor's fault. I also like the way the kids are taken care of and the security afforded to them.
