Member Testimonials
Great water aerobics classes with great instructors.
I use the gym and only the gym. However, this YMCA is excellent. If I had the time, I would utilize my membership to the fullest. Your afterschool childcare plan has been our go-to for several years now.
I love the variety of rooms & activities & classes that are offered. Child watch is great too, & they do a great job of separating the children & doing age-appropriate activities! The staff is always very friendly & welcoming! A concern I do have is the life jacket rule. How am I supposed to help my child practice swimming independently if they're required to wear a life jacket until 6? Also, I have young children who have been on swim team since 4 that should be allowed to take a swim test & not required to wear a life jacket solely dependent on age.
Lots of choices
A good variety of classes and great instructors at a very reasonable price.
Cleanliness of the facility
I love the group exercise and knowledgable instructors. I also like your nonprofit status as a resource to the community.
I enjoy working out and associating with Y's personnel and quests.
Clean courteous convenient
Like the group exercise classes and free weight/treadmill room
better cost than other Gyms and very family friendly
Line dancing, senior exercises
great instructors for classes.
Classes and instructors
The scheduled programs and activities are very well done by people who love doing them. I’m impressed with the Senior Sneakers set up and time change to 12:00 noon. The extra time for staff to set up chairs and equipment works out very well and the on-line registration is super. Sensor Sneakers program and instructors are professional and caring.
Nice staff, clean, indoor pool.
The programs I attend are great (Silver Sneakers and Water Exercise). The only thing I wish could be improved is the timing of scheduling a class. You never know when the portal is open -- it changes weekly!
My wife really likes the water aerobics & various classes you offer! As for myself, I’m a swimmer & waiting for the outdoor pool to open (even though it’s shallow & nothing can be done).
Everything
I so enjoy Kathi M’s RPM class and body pump too, both early morning classes. I don’t do much else, but I will recommend these.
There are great opportunities for people of every age which don't cost extra - making the Y a worthwhile and valuable facility.
My only complaint is at the Monte Ballard YMCA, the workers turn off the machines in the workout room starting up to 45 minutes before closing. When I use different machines for 20 minutes each, it is a problem when the treadmills are turned off and the YMCA isn't closing for another half hour or more! My suggestion is to leave machines on up to 15 minutes before closing. Thank you!
I joined almost all the morning clases , like Zumba ,Step and Water exercises sometimes ; it's the best time to work out for me and I like all the instructer , too .
It is conducsive for the whole family.
There are exercise programs for all levels of fitness. The instructors are very knowledgeable and explain proper form to avoid injury. They have a variety of social programs as well. I particularly like the art class and the book club. But ther are many choices.
The instructors are always helpful, encouraging, and overall amazing!
I like the variety of classes, and the instructors are great.
I don't like that some of the classes get too crowded. I always register for classes, but I don't think most people do.
Friendly staff, convenient class times, welcoming atmosphere.
For me, they are perfect.
The sign-up routine, using the Internet, is frankly a true mess.
Basketball for kids 12-16 was great but it's hard for a 12 year old to play the game. Most 12 year old boys are still short

I love the outreach to senior citizens. The silver Sneakers and swimming classes are great. And all the instructors are encouraging
