Member Testimonials
I've been a member since the early 80's. I have done ballet, yoga, aerobics, tennis..... My infant children started out in the Y's infant gym. They are now 35 and 38. I wanted to learn how to swim better and organized the "Post Oak Y" master swim class. I have been a dedicated mile swimmer for 30 years and am in great health for a 70 year old. All thanks to the Post Oak/Trotter Y.
Great range of classes. Wonderful facilities. Parking can be challenging, depending on time of day. Also love that I can get there from home in 10 minutes, again, depending on time of day.
The steam room, jacuzzi, swimming pool.
My husband and I are retired. We have been members of the YMCA Downtown (Tellepsen) for many years.
I enjoy group classes. I attend the "Forever Well" classes and the water classes when I am able. I still work part-time as a supervisor of student teachers and try to work my schedule around the classes when I am in school. I look forward to vacations and summer when I can attend classes regularly. I hope you keep a couple of the water exercise classes this summer. I understand they may be not on the schedule due to swim classes.
My husband often attends the "Forever Well" with me and lately more men have been attending those classes. He really enjoys using the upstairs track and working on the various machines and weights. He used to run every morning on top of the old downtown YMCA building. Thanks for keeping the sign.
Wonderful facility
I like the handball courts.
A great modern gym with outstanding amenities. I love the fact it opens at 5 a.m.!!
I haven’t attended any programs but I enjoy using the open gym space. It’s nice, clean, and people are very polite.
Good place with diversity
Friendly welcoming place. Great variety of classes and workout options. Class instructors are always helpful and well prepared. Love my YMCA.
I love the spacious gym, the clean locker rooms and friendliness of the staff.
The classes are great, too. I wish there were more in the early morning and after 6pm. For those of us who work until 6 or after, options are limited.
Child watch has been great, the personal trainers are nice, but since Ive barely started going here- it is HUGE and I love the womens only wellness center!
It is convenient to o my house. I like that you have reinstituted locker rentals and will be very happy when towel service resumes
Inclusivity and availability
So very organized
The staff is AMAZING!
Would like information on personal training for seniors
We want Y work out T's.
Instructors on Body Attack and Body Pump
Like the convenience to work.
i wish you can have volleyball for teenagers
Very clean and organized and the staff members are incredible especially the gentleman who works at 5am in the morning at the front desk and Ms Janette who is also in at 5am they are very welcoming and caring and make it worth a place coming too with their kindness and assistance. The cleaning staff who working both in the morning and afternoon are also incredible and one of the young men who is at the front office in the afternoon.
Overall good experience and i always recommend to everyone i work with as we are just round the corner from the Y
This facility is clean and tidy, so it's easy to maneuver around the Fitness Center. I do wish the Tellepsen Y opened earlier on Sundays rather than staying closed until noon. Early hours on Sunday allow shift workers and healthcare workers to come in and get a workout when they may not have that availability on weekdays.
No problems program is quiet satisfacory,i attend the same program on Stella Link.
Everything.
Particularly the people that work there. Most of them are assertive and kind.
just great. clean and friendly.
Vicki Watson went over and beyond to help me with a problem. Every one at the Telespen YMCA has given me excellent customer service the gym and pool are always very clean. I have been a member there for over 3 years. It's such a good gym that I get a free membership at 24 hour fitness ( medicare silver sneaker) but I choose to pay dues and go to the Telespen YMCA because it's that good!
I love taking Les Mills classes at Tellepsen and especially appreciate the camaraderie with other members that has developed over the years.
My single issue is that some women wear sports bras but no shirts which seems inappropriate. The policy states that shirts must be worn, so I would encourage the Y to enforce the policy. Thanks for asking.

Need to get video link fixed on eliptical machines. It has been broken for many weeks.
