Meeting new people.
Exercising and keeping healthy and fit.
I like the silver sneakers programs and I like Jihan and Priscilla. I enjoy the cardio exercises, and exercises that improves balance, strength and flexibility.
Friendly place, good programs and varied interesting classes, good atmosphere. Staff is very pleasant and helpful Great programs for Seniors
I have enjoyed going to the Y since I became a member, I workout 6 days a week. Make a new friends in each class that I attend. Very nice and friendly staff and instructors. Variety of classes for seniors and programs.
I like all programs
Wonderful pool, big amount of choices concerning group sessions. the only thing a I don't like is the music while doing pilates. I think it completely distracts from what Pilates is about: Deep breathing and in the right moment. Actually, for me it would also be nice if with yoga there would be no music or very low-tuned one only.
I especially prefer the Silver Sneakers Classic workout as I am a senior. However, our current instructor who has taken on the Houston Weekley Y Tuesday morning class does not follow the routine of Silver Sneakers, but instead is more inclined to teach low impact combo which is considerably much more intense than Silver Sneakers Classic. The attendees of this class are all seniors.
I have no other comments. The location of the Weekley Y is convenient, and all other programs are good.
Low impact aerobics
Weight rm
Light yoga
Have a great variety of programs for Adults - exercise classes, pickle ball, extensive excising machines, Staff has been wonderful in assistance, and have personal trainer to name a few services that are offered at the Y.
Cheerfulness of people who work at the 2 facilities I've been to in recent months!
Just do
Very much appreciate that you have programs and activities for all ages.
I have been extemely impressed with the Weekley YMCA staff. They are really friendly and extremely professional. I have enjoyed all the exercise classes I have taken. I am sorry I put off joining.
Very friendly staff, extremely clean and lots to offer. Plenty of parking.
I am very happy about my progress through personal training with Ryan Dodson!
the weekly ymca seems to have the most over 65 people going to group exersize classes (like yoga) and that makes me happy.!
Love the friendship and comraderie with other members and staff.
Well thought out activities designed for my age group and inclusive activities
When I started I used the services of a personal trainer, Ryan Hayes. He was perfect, especially for a member my age. I then used the circuit training regularly and appreciated the ability to have programmed machines so I didn't have to set anything up, just use my bracelet, a very big plus.
More recently, I have been taking classes, Silver Sneakers and Forever Well. The instructors are wonderful. They are helpful, knowledgeable and fun. Being in the company of fellow members, all of us being challenged to different degrees, is so much fun. I believe I have found my niche. The time goes by so quickly and I come away feeling invigorated.
Lap pool swimming. Great communication from Melissa on group text with pool updates for us daily swimmers. Very helpful! Guards are cordial and always friendly environment and clean and right water temperature. Hopefully the 2-4pm weekday pool closure will end soon so we can enjoy the great spring weather and fall weather in October.
I like your forever well program.
I wish they were at 10:00 and not 11:00!
Love the classes
The variety of exercises available daily and the comeraderie that develops.
Yoga classes
Sauna
Friendly and accessible.
I do weight and cardio 3 times per week and swim about 1/week when it is warm and sunny.
I am the "self-appointed safety and maintenance observer.
For some reason the stirrup straps on the stationary bicycles facing north seem to be a problem for maintenance. It seems like one or two are broken every time I am there.
Positive and encouraging atmosphere
Opportunities for short seasons to try out different sports
Convenient location to my work. Facility does not have its own track which means you use the machines inside or risk jogging on sidewalks.
Easy to use equipment. Very good staff always very helpful. Early opening.

John Dalton is a wonderful teacher: since I've been taking classes at the Y, over a period of many years, he has missed one class, for root canal surgery. He is always professional, upbeat, and dedicated to helping us be our best senior selves. My classmates are all retired professionals: lawyers, nurses, teachers, engineers, and physicians. They come to Houston from all over the world: India, Lebanon, Taiwan, England, Germany, Mexico, China, Switzerland.
