Variety of activities and childcare
Love the return of the coffee bar. Once I told my neighbor about it she joined the next day. I've noticed there's quite a few treadmills that aren't working but it looks like they are getting fixed. I'm glad the staff is staying on top of those machines. Keep up the great work!
Proximity to home, wide range of activities and the partnership with Norton Commons Elementary.
Accessable. Friendly. Clean.
We really love the Y! I would like to share a few suggestions to help improve my experience with the app!
1. Simplify the class list. Why are there 25 different versions of yoga scattered throughout the class list? I would love to see all yoga offerings at each branch without having to search and select every single one. Similarly, I would like to be able to select dance classes and see ALL of the dance classes without having to know all of the proprietary names for each different dance class.
2. Profile the instructors. I am interested in learning more about them, maybe include a photo and bio. Sometimes I forget their name and want to look it up. Sometimes I want to see other classes taught by that instructor across all branches.
3. You used to include beginner/intermediate/advanced/all levels on the app that each class is taught at. I know I've attended classes before that were not taught at the fitness level I needed. For example, cycling could be taught as all levels, it could also be taught at an easier or harder level depending on the instructor. Understanding the categorization would be helpful in choosing the right classes to help me reach my fitness goals.
4. That being said, it would be great if classes were actually taught at the level on the schedule, rather than based on who regularly attends. For example, many older folks attend the M/F morning power yoga, and it is not taught as true power class, which is kind of disappointing; you haven't offered a true power yoga class since before Covid.
5. This suggestion does not have to do with the app, but I wanted to mention that I sometimes take Ybound at the Northeast branch which is really fun, I'd love to have that option at the Norton Commons branch! I'd also love something like a traditional jazz dance class, and I've been wanting to try the bungee fitness classes I've seen at boutique fitness studios.
Thanks for listening!
