The incredibly friendly staff are the best part of the YMCA! From the folks at the check-in desk to the various group fitness instructors, they are *so* friendly and welcoming! I also love that the Y fosters an environment of cultural diversity. I loved seeing the international flags hanging in the Northeast Y hallways last year. I love that the Y offers classes and services for folks for whom English is not their primary language. Knowing that the Y offers a sliding scale for membership fees and scholarships for various programming is *hugely* important to me. I want everyone in the community of Louisville to have access to the Y. I absolutely love that the Y staff, members, and guests are from a wide variety of backgrounds.

I just want to add that after many attempts to understand the guest pass policy at the Northeast YMCA, First name removed who works there gave me the answer I had been seeking. I actually cancelled my membership over misinformation till I was there actually canceling it and First name removed told me about the Grandparent pass. Never in my inquires over the last couple of years (hoping the policy would change) did anyone ever mention this to me. I was told multiple times I could only bring my 4 year granddaughter into the Y once a year. Happily I reversed my decision (even canceling my new membership to JCC) and am once again an active member. If you look at my account, I have been a member there (with minor breaks) since the day you opened. I really think this grandparent information should be published or shared to all employees. I love this gym and the friendly staff. My only complaint is the floor space to do any type of floor or free form workout has been eliminated by the new equipment. We need to have more floor space added.

The family pool is clean and most of time pool water temp is walk in ready...DO NOT LIKE NEW SQUARE SHOWER HEADS-- FLOW is less and some don't rotate to keep water out of dressing are...old shower heads were just fine
