Member Testimonials
Hood County YMCA has excellent facilities, e.g., work-out areas, game courts & swimming pools (indoor & outdoor) and locker rooms. All facilities are very well maintained and clean. The staff is professional, courteous and eager to assist members and guests. The Y's programs are well thought out with carefully monitored events for all ages and capabilities. All-in-all, the Hood County YMCA is a most positive asset to our community.
I enjoy the gentle yoga class.
Classes are free to members.
I would like to see an active older adult weight class and a step class between 9am and/or 11am. We currently have Silver Sneakers at 10:30, but it really doesn't concentrate on muscle building.
The friends you make and wonderful instructors.
Open swim lanes almost all day for members. Previously member of Coppell YMCA - there , only 1-2 hours a day with open swim lanes
Good workout space. Clean building.
All the classes, great equipment
Love the exercise classes
I wish there were more at 5:30 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
There is something for everyone to enjoy. The instructors are very welcoming and friendly.
Friendly environment
The baseball program was my favorite! I absolutely loved it. The coaches cared about the experience and environment for the kids. My child loved the coaches. It was pure joy at every practice and game. Unforgettable experience. Thank you!
Our Silver Sneakers class at the Granbury YMCA is a great time to exercise and interact with other wonderful people from our community. Tracy is a terrific instructor and her "heart for health" is obvious. She seems to enjoy leading us.
There is a class for everyone. Any age group .
Great instructors & always willing to modify for an individual.
Cleanliness, good equipment. I wish the front desk was more staffed or at least more attentive.
Clean facility. Plenty of times to play Pickleball.
Love the front desk staff and the lifeguards.
Absolutely love the indoor swimming pool and outdoor pool.
Have used the indoor track and exercise equipment.
Those little kids need swimming lessons!
Looking forward to attending more YMCA events. Need some xl and xxl tshirts!
Thankful to the YMCA. Please open more.
We lived in Denton, Texas. The colleges and college professors-built huge fitness facilities financed by college fees. Huge fitness facilities used by very few. What a waste of money and corruption. I'm a TWU alumni and they wouldn't even let alumni on the campus last year. Couldn't use the library not to mention the campus fitness facility. I knew the campus visitor's booth was staff by a former neighbor. TWU hired her son (nepotism) and he wouldn't let anyone on the campus. I'm against tenure for any college professor. The college professors in Denton have too much power and built exclusionary campus fitness facilities.
My husband worked at the local hospital for doctors for over 30 years. Thank you for providing a career healthcare professional a place to get healthy.
The YMCA is open to everyone.
Friendly people
Curtis the trainer has motivated my sister and I to lift weights and workout regularly! He is a great asset to the YMCA.
water aerobics
Friendly atmosphere. Takes Silver Sneakers. LOVE Jennifer's Pilates classes.
I like that the Y is community oriented and offers some free programs that benefit the community and less advantaged people. I use the walking track a lot when it is really hot or really cold and I don't want to walk outside.
I’ve found classes to be fun and good exercise. The trainers are also very helpful. It’s a great place.
Tracy Waddell is the best yoga instructor I have ever had. She is knowledgeable, professional, kind and personable. Tracy goes above and beyond and is truly an asset to our YMCA. She’s been such a blessing to me. Rachel and Angela are awesome as well and greatly appreciated 😊
My family loves the ability to workout,
play pickleball with provided childcare. We have gotten to be more active with the accommodations the Y provides. Our kids have enjoyed learning chess ♟ and meeting new friends as we are new to town.
Welcoming environment, friendly staff (especially Carol Anne), clean facilities, and there’s always something going on!!
I like the wide range of options and the community outreach.
Lots of group fitness classes to choose from

Lots of activities and programs.
