The instructors are amazing!
Mathnasium was wonderful the last two years helping catch my daughter up from Covid. Flexible, great tutors, easy to understand process. Much thanks!!
Staff is wonderful — caring, attentive, and know everyone’s name. Hours are convenient, great built-in incentives, and my children LOVE going.
mathnasium has been great for my eighth grader who missed some fundamentals during and after Covid. The people are great and their assessments and feedback are super detailed.
My daughter loves Mathnasium. She tells me she really understands how it is taught to her. She says the teachers are really nice.
Our son is building more and more confidence as he goes to Mathnesium. His teachers LOVE that he goes every week (including the summer) and tell us it shows in his work. We recommend this program to all his friends - one even signed up this year! 10/10!
My son is doing so well at Mathnasium!! I did not think it was possible for him to focus and (dare I say almost enjoy) doing math! This place is AWESOME!!
Very helpful option for improving kiddos math skills, thank you!
Our kids have enjoyed becoming better at math!
Thank you
Mathnasium has been an incredible experience for my 10-year-old daughter! From the moment she walked in, she was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by the staff (yay Josef, Maya and all the rest!) at the NE Portland branch. The instructors at Mathnasium have not only helped her grasp challenging math concepts but have also instilled in her a newfound confidence in her abilities. The personalized attention she receives during each session has made a significant difference in her understanding and performance in math. Additionally, the program's tailored curriculum ensures that she is continually challenged at the appropriate level, allowing her to progress steadily. I am beyond impressed with the results she has achieved in such a short time. Mathnasium has truly made learning math a fun and rewarding experience for my daughter, and I couldn't be happier with her progress. I highly recommend Mathnasium to any parent looking to support their child's mathematical journey!"
I am a small-group tutor at a private school in Portland, where I have been working with a student one-on-one in Math for about 1 1/2 years. She joined Mathnasiuim when she began working with me. Over time, she has spoken with me happily about Mathnasium, and has shown me several things she learned as a Mathnasium student. Mathnasium seems to me to excel in assessing just where a student is in their math journey and making a solid plan to help them learn the next skills step-by-step. The atmosphere on site is positive and comfortable for the students. Finally, Mathnasium does a good job of assessing students' progress and informing parents (and teachers, if parents wish) about the student's progress. I would recommend Mathnasium highly to any parent whose child is below grade level or overwhelmed in the classroom. This is a step-by-step program that is both highly organized and friendly; an excellent combination.
Love the convenience of the drop-in approach - love the regular updates with assessment information and progress towards targets - our son seems to be doing better with math in school so we are very pleased!
Mathnasium instructors do an amazing job! We appreciate their positive attitude and hard work!
The confidence and progress our kid has experienced have made her more resilient while she learns. She loves going.
jozef is great. very personable. i love all the teachers. our kid is positive/neutral about going which is pretty darn good for after hours math!
We love Mathnasium! Our son has learned and grown so much, and the communication is so impressive--clear, positive, and timely. The only reason why not 10 is the cost. The quality is worth it but it's out of reach for many who could benefit from it.
My child was resistant to going, but he is learning what he needs and leaves happy each day. No longer bringing unfinished school day work home to finish at night!!
The staff always keeps me well informed about his progress. Well worth the cost, and i like the flexibility of drop in, since weekly schedules can change. Thank you.
Our 6th grader has gaps in his math knowledge (probably due to a combination of how his brain works plus covid learning loss). Because he's so far behind, he felt terrible about himself, and every time we tried to help him at home, it resulted in big and negative emotions that were incredibly difficult to deal with. We were all feeling desperate and signed him up for Mathnasium as a last resort. It's pricey and we had to temporarily pause his other extracurricular activities as a result (for both cost and time considerations). I honestly partially think of the cost as as mental health support for the entire family.
Mathnasium has been fantastic. We're only a month in, but wow has it been a total godsend. We are so glad and relieved with how it's been helping our son fill in his gaps AND ALSO address his emotional reactivity to math. To be clear, Mathnasium doesn't provide mental health support - but when a child starts to feel better about himself, his mental health also improves. And there's no more fighting at home about math.
What we especially appreciate about Mathnasium so far: 1) the adult to student ratio, 2) there are no electronic/digital devices - just paper and people, 3) kids do not sit next to each other - there's truly no messing around, no distractions, no drama, 4) from the very beginning, our son leaves happy, feeling really positive about the things he's finally beginning to understand (and no longer feeling "stupid"), 5) he's actually making good progress! Finally! 6) We are not fighting about math at home anymore!
It's only been 5 weeks, but we are feeling incredibly positive about the time and financial investment we're making. We're clearly seeing positive academic and emotional improvements.
Love the personal e-mails about my kid. He likes to go to Mathnasium and feels connected to the people there.
Augs has grown very attached to everyone who works there and I’ve seen first-hand how they celebrate his accomplishments and encourage him every step of the way. We are 100% keeping Augs in the program as he increases his mathematical chops, but also for the community itself - worth every penny 😊
The team at NE Fremont is very friendly and professional (especially Jozef!) and make the experience of learning math as painless as possible.
The instructors were incredible, they made math enjoyable and my son's confidence in his math ability has increased so much.
Our kids love going to Mathnasium. That says it all! Thank you!
Our son Sam loves the program, thanks to the positive supportive instructors.
Our son enjoys going to Mathnasium and that reflects on his grade and MAP test too.
Everything has been awesome. The staff are kind and professional and are very responsive to questions. And most importantly, our son enjoys being there and voiced that it was better helping him to understand math almost immediately. Thank you!
Friendly staff, I appreciate helping my daughter to improve her math skill!
