Good class selections, equipment, and the overall gym is very clean. All of the staff members and instructors are excellent.
I am hoping for a Friday 6 AM class, now that we have Monday and Wednesday.
I am just getting started working with a personal trainer. The reason we joined there is so many places to begin with.
Love that the YMCA offers workout classes !
Did some traveling in June & visited 2 diff YMCA locations in OH & MI, and once again I was glad that St Pete is my home location! Our layout, class offerings, and hours are much better than both places I visited.
I really like the gym classes and the pool/ splash pad.
My only complaint is about the pools. The complaint I have and that a lot of other moms have is that the competition pool is way too cold and the smaller, heated instructional pool is a perfect temperature but constantly booked for camps or classes. They only have very small windows of use during the day. The reason we mainly signed the family up at the Y is for me to have a place I can bring my 6 and 3 year old to practice swimming. They don’t mind colder water, but they don’t even want to get into the competition pool at all. A lot of moms with kids say the same thing. You have a family side in the competition pool and everyone crowds on the steps cause it’s cold and shallow there. it just doesn’t work well for little kids. We need another instructional pool that isn’t booked all day long.
Shevy the trainer! and the facilities
They are designed to help seniors with mobility issues.
Silver sneakers and programs targeting an aging population.
Top notch facility with a lot of activities to offer.
I joined a little over five weeks ago. I love all the great variety of group fitness classes and especially appreciate how many times throughout the day classes are offered, especially mid morning through late afternoon (those are two main reasons I joined!). Instructors and staff that I’ve met are friendly and helpful. Always notice everywhere is neat and clean (and I mentioned it and thanked a custodial man). Appreciate all the communications and updates about special events and programming. All this helps make me feel motivated to attend 4 (or more!) times a week, and think that I may be able to achieve my fitness goals as a new “senior” member!

Nice equipment, good hours, fun class offerings, awesome pool
