I like the saline water in the pool. I am a swimmer and the chlorine at other Y pools is a problem. I had 2 eye surgeries so the Central Y's pool is perfect for me.
Also, the lifeguards and other staff are always welcoming and fun to talk to.

I love the pool especially. And, the locker room and showers are kept clean. I appreciate being allowed to rent a locker where I can keep my stuff for swimming so I don't have to shlep it back and forth (which is why I moved to the downtown Y). I also appreciate the parking although I'm not sure others will get the same privledge so i don't mention that when I'm telling people about it.

I don't use the programs or activities but I enjoy the facility equipment.

Men’s towels need to be replenished so we don’t have to go back upstairs when we’re ready to shower. Too many sit on equipment while looking at phones. Otherwise a great place!

Y is convenient. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I like the amenities (towels, steam room, sauna). Because of my work schedule I can't participate in morning classes or classes during the day.

I like the new system of registering to swim.

I enjoy my time doing different activities around the Y. The staff is so helpful and nice!

I only visited while volunteering but if I knew someone in the neighborhood I would tell them how nice it is but I go to the MELyons Y

Ever-increasing variety of studio-based exercise classes. I really like the strength train together class and would love to see even more offerings

At present, I come to the Y (downtown) only for swimming in the salt water lap pool. I love it and have recommended it to many friends and family. I think the app is terrific for making and easily changing reservations. Also love that I have access to sauna and steam rooms even though I haven’t used them yet.

Everyone seems to be very interested in helping you to obtain your goals. Friendly and positive attitudes.

The atmosphere and the variety of machines and delicious coffee and cleanliness of the gym, plus helpfulness of staff.

Swimming

Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The space and equipment are pristine. It is a great place with no children around to distract you.

The only downside is parking. The street meters rarely function, if at all. The lots are expensive which limits my ability to come more often. There must be a way to get the owners or the city to make some concessions for the Y users.

I’ve spoken with several people who will not use the downtown Y because of the parking issue.

I just joined recently and have gone there twice to swim. That is what I primarily joined for. I like that there are a max of 2 people in a lane. I also like that the Y is only a 15 minute walk from my home. I am also looking forward to helping with the OTR 5k and any other volunteer opportunities.

Between the super friendly staff and the great facility, I am so thankful to have my local YMCA

I love the facility, staff, and programs (I have not joined a class yet but everyone seems to really enjoy their experience).
