Great equipment, hours, staff.
It is my closest Y. I like how diverse it is. The equipment is all in good shape, and I can always find an open machine (I mostly use the treadmill and upright stationary bike). Staff is friendly and welcoming. There is always room in the parking lot.
The Weinberg Y has an incredible variety of activities for a very wide range of ability and interest. It is extremely family friendly and welcoming of parents with their kids of all ages while also offering what all types of adults want in a fitness facility.
The staff are awesome! Equipment is always clean and wuickly repaired if broken. I’m also impressed that major renovations were done over the last few months and it didn’t impact hours of operation or access to gym area!
Good place nice atmosphere
I like the great mix of people --younger and older, all races, all there having a good time, many interacting, but some just focusing on their workout and leaving, but still, all seem to be comfortable being there together.
Since having brain trauma, I have become very reclusive and quite the loner. Not sociable. The Y accepted and helped me realize that there are still good people who are willing to listen and help with my struggles and other problems. Since my brain surgeries, my body and health continue to decline. It is a blessing for me to be able to go to the Y...that’s my meditation! Thank you!!!
- The many options for exercising (group classes, small group trainings, ActivTrax)
- The sense of community
- The ability to use any of the other MD YMCAs
- The chance to give back
- The regular fitness challenges/incentives
Mutually motivating environment!
Nice place, friendly atmosphere no one is hassling you to buy things to upgrade your membership
The quality of machines as well as the very friendly staff. The staff is the reason I stay.
I like the friendliness of the people; those who work at the Y and those that exercise at the Y.
It’s a fine facility that’s shared by a fine community. The staff is capable and friendly and the membership is diverse, friendly, supportive.
The experience is very welcoming. It’s a great place for family and friends to meet to exercise, play and swim together. The y experience is awesome.
I enjoy the classes, the facility and the staff.
Everything!! Its a whole family experience where I can address my health and fitness goals while my children are safe and involved in any number of fun and interesting activities. The Weinburg Y is our second home!!! We love it and I've lost 60 pounds since joining!!! I love my Y!!
I love the Y. I just don't like it when the pool closes without much notice, or the schedule changes (from what has been published). I build my workout schedule around that.
Motivating environment, and genuine sincerity conveyed by fitness instructors! Julia is paramount to my success, and I am inspired by her positive attitude and overall dedication.
I love the pool and friendly staff.
I love my exercise class teachers: Linda Smith and Alice M.
Small group training provides the individual attention of 1 on 1 training and the camaraderie
of a fitness class. Every week Julia provides a new workout and challenge tailored to the strengths and goals of the group. It will push you out of your comfort zone and into a new level of fitness. I highly recommend small group training to anyone that wants to kick up their fitness, learn with the guidance of a professional, or start on their fitness journey.
Great trainer and stay place is great place for my daughter.
The friendly employees as well as the people I meet.
The pool activities / classes are getting better as well.
Close proximity and friendly atmosphere.
Great facility, friendly staff!
I love going to the water fitness classes. I can’t always get there but when I do I have a great time
Very friendly oriented environment for anyone
I love the diversity of membership, the kind staff, the fabulous swimming pool and the large and charming contingent of senior citizens. Excited to try the stay & play as well.
The experience I love the most from the Y. Is the hands on training u get for being a member. And also the weight loss classes. I love being an associate.

My wife and I live in Winthrop House, with a pool available only in the warm months and your pool, exercise machines and other facilities are an easy drive to and from it. (I just swim laps there while my wife works out on your machines). I am retired and have plenty of time to swim. The lanes usually are very busy but we swimmers usually are pretty cooperative. The staff is very helpful.
