So many options of things to do
So much to do at the Y! Classes, cardio, book club, meeting up with friends. It is the center of town.
Friendly staff; kid specific programming, including cardio passes; supplies/equipment for sports. Only request is to increase access to swimming classes at Towson.
I love the people who work for the Towson Y. Whether they are staffing the front desk(Bill), life guarding at 8:00am (Dennis, Ross), teaching swim lessons to kids (Kate McG), or providing personal training to a senior (Stefanie) my experience with every staff member including the new executive director, Jovan Custis, has been great.
I also really appreciate how diverse the Towson Y has become. My grandchildren take swim lessons and love to climb the rock wall with other bright eyed and eager kids from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, races, and ethnicities. I support the Y beyond my membership fees because it is a mission driven organization that works hard for the greater good of metropolitan Baltimore.
Clean and friendly
I love the camaraderie, the huge diversity in members, the great facilities. It's as much a neighborhood center as it is a place to exercise. Right now, however, my classes in the pool are marred by the very noisy HVAC system. It's gotten to the point where it's almost impossible to hear the instructors, even when they're miked. Summers do tend to stress the facility, especially on days when the weather forces campers and sports teams inside, but that's just part of being a community.
THe Y in Towson is a very nice facility. It has a great variety of equipment for all my workout needs and the staff is very accommodating and friendly.
The people who work there make me feel welcome every time I walk through the doors. And it's not just at the Orokowa Y, but any Y I step in!
I have been a member of the Y of Central MD since 2010. It is fabulous.
All the variety of offerings and people
I have been a Y member for more than 11 years. I have enjoyed every class that’s part of the membership. I truly love that they have the stay and play for my kids. I have also done the parents night out which have been great experience for my kids too. People at the Y are always helpful.
Clean. Friendly staff. Equipment is well maintained.
Excellent facility, good location, well maintained.
Clean and friendly.
Normally the Y is a clean and friendly place, with staff that are customer oriented!
Friendly family atmosphere.
Sent my son to summer camp for a week and he loved it. The staff is fantastic. The facility is also very nice with a lot of different things to do throughout the day for the kids. Would highly suggest the summer camp if you have young ones that want to have a full day of fun. The staff is very professional and engaging.
Facilities are clean and bright. Staff are friendly and knowledgable.
It's a well-equipped facility, the community seems lively, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We've only taken one class so far but the instructor is good and the pool seems in good order - I was pleased that they didn't hesitate to close it when the chemicals were out of balance the other day.
We've been Y members since the 1990s. When our family shrunk, we were able to discover an adult side of the Y that crossed through midlife and into senior years. I like that ALL members are represented.
Location is convenient, facilities are kept clean and staff are friendly.

Great support and encouragement from the rock climbing staff!
