I love body pump and rpm
Equipment is satisfactory for the population. I would like kettle bells in 20, 25. And a leg abduction, adducion machine. Wonderful aerobics equipment.
The jigsaw puzzle is a very nice addition.

I have been a member of the Silver Sneakers program for almost ten years, and it's the only exercise program that I've ever stuck with. I like the mix of exercise types (aerobic, weights, balance, etc), the camaraderie, and the convenience of the Y location (good parking, close to most places where I have errands, etc).

Weights, stationary bike, elastic weights, friendliness of staff, cleanliness of facility, music.......
We do our own workouts and supplement with yoga and/or cycling at night. There is everything at the YMCA that we need!

The Rockbridge Area Y-- my branch of the YMCA of Virginia's Blue Ridge -- is a well-run operation supporting more programs for more people in the service area than most could imagine. All in a no-muss, no-fuss manner by a competent, upbeat, unfailingly pleasant staff. Wouldn't that say "10" to you too?

I like the variety of classes for different desires, and I like the treadmills and elliptical.
Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Night classes that fit my schedule. Spin!
I have been a member of this "Y" since it opened here in Lexington. At 80 years old I just passed another annual physical exam with flying colors. I attribute my excellent health to my weight control, maybe some good genes but mostly to my 20 years of regular fitness workouts. I usually go to the "Y" three times a week-M,W,F. I arrive at 7 AM and start with a half an hour on an elliptical cardio machine. I follow this up with an hour and a half of work on ten weight machines where I do 50 repetitions on each. I then finish with some free weight and sit up exercises. Following this I do the 9 AM group fitness class called Body Pump. I finish my morning workout at 10 AM.
About five years age I convinced my wife to join me at Body Pump and she is now a regular for the M,W,F classes. Her health is also excellent.
In addition to the benefits of staying fit I have met many friends at the "Y" and enjoy their company and the stories and humor that we share daily.
The "Y" in Lexington has never been better. I am very glad to be a member here.

The group fitness instructors are highly trained and very professional. The front desk staff are friendly and accommodating. The variety of programming is well thought out appealing to many age ranges as well as fitness levels. The child care program is a nice addition for young families. It feels like the administration is always looking for new ways to engage and attract members.

I wish we had more facilities, like sauna, steam room, swimming pool, etc. but given the limited size of the market here I know it is unrealistic to expect such things.
The variety of weekly programs and the quality of the facilities. The friendly staff is a strong plus as well.
The yoga programs and TRX programs are great!
And I love to be able to use other YMCA across the country while traveling
