I loved the skill set part of each session!
Been taking yoga and the teachers are fantastic.
I like that you have dance for the children. I do not like that you moved the dance studio to the corner of the basement and 1/4 of the room is taken up by a Closet. There is so much space down there that is now rarely used. Why not expand the dance studio and grow the program? It's hard for me to convince other parents that you value this enrichment program when it looks like you don't.
I love the group activities especially, Zumba by Ms. Leah. She is a power house. They staff are very friendly, ready to help, and the environment is inviting.
The Early Risers program coaches by Louis Tudor is the best swimming team for Masters in the valley
Friendly staff.
It was a great experience for my daughter. She really enjoyed the program and learned a lot about basketball. The coaches were very kind and patient with the kids. Thank you!
The diversity of the children and how the coaches interact with the kids by teach the fundamentals
The YMCA offers such a great variety of classes for all ages. The prices for classes are affordable. My son loves his swim classes! The instructors have all been very welcoming and provide great feedback.
The instructors are so kind and thoughtful. One of our kids had a negative experience with swim lessons at a different company and we have been apprehensive to enroll in classes again. The Y allows us to have all 4 children enrolled at the same time too which is so amazing!
I like the time the instructor spends with my child and her focus on all aspects of safety in and around the water.
The 9:00 adult swim group is great, and it is a benefit to our community to have a place where adults can learn to improve their swimming and pursue fitness goals and good health. The atmosphere at the Kirk pool is wonderful, and the staff is really dedicated to teaching and helping all kinds of people, regardless of ability level.
I love dance! We love Ms. Julie and Ms. Riley. We love that it's low-key, inexpensive, but high quality.
Easy to enroll, instructors are awesome with the kids, and our kids beg to go everyday!
They have helped me tremendously on my weight loss journey
I enjoyed the paint class and hope you do it again. I think people would be very willing to pay a small fee for this experience. Please keep the senior friendly classes on your schedule & mark them "senior friendly" so we know what we can manage.
My husband and I mainly do the deep water aerobic classes in the lap pool. We try to come 3 nights a week. We have joined the weekly challenge as well. We enjoy the friends we have made over the years (since 1970 for my husband and less time for me (about 2003 at the old Y). Our son who is now 45 took swim lessons when he was a toddler. We are glad to see the Y supporting swim lessons for school kids who would otherwise not be able to afford them. We like the diversity of people we meet there. It is a special place!
I love the child watch so my daughter can have fun while I work out.
Don’t use
I especially like that the Y membership reflects the entire Roanoke community.
I’ve probably worked out at 20 YMCAs over the years, and this one is my favorite. It has a large well-equipped weight room, well-maintained equipment, terrific mountain views, sauna and steam room, and a great sense of community.
The YMCA has been great for my family! My husband and I have gotten more active, while our kids are participating in activities. My son plays basketball there and swimming, my daughter does gymnastics and swimming. We love them all!
Training packages. Variety of machines. Friendly staff.
I enjoy the staff more than anything. I also appreciate the hrs of operation.
The instructors for the classes that I take are excellent! Sarah E. and Brandi are real treasures!
Your staff is what I love about The Kirk. Why ? Because they get it that they sell one product ; SERVICE and they themselves , their authentic caring selves, that is the service. They simply are themselves, they are not selling anything ; they are giving it away.
Class with Sarah Early makes my day. We had 44 members in class this past Monday, which shows how popular she is with people of all ages. Please repair our green chairs and give us more red and other size weights, as well as green balls, because we run out of equipment when the class is full.
The baked potato luncheon was a big success, and i look forward to more meals and chances to bond with other classmates and Y staff.
Mostly, I use the lap pool, and love it. The lifeguards and staff are really pleasant and conscientious.
I love the Y-Splash, training young children so they know what to do on and in the water. Too many children drown.
I don't take classes, but my friends all think they're great, especially the yoga and spin.
I just come in to do cardio work on my own. I don't do classes or programs. I LOVE the people who work at this Y and I LOVE that it is VERY clean.
I wish the pool water was warmer - I go to the Salem Y to swim.
I wish you'd get some newer rowing machines - Salem has a much better one.
Overall - I love this Y and the staff.

i love how they are very professional and very patient with the children. my daughter takes swim lessons and they make her feel confident when she is afraid. thankyou for being an asset to the community
