Programs and classes for seniors
I don't know much yet, but your selections of workout machines is quite satisfactory.
Variety of programs to choose from---Decatur YMCA has a really nice team!
It has the hours and equipment I need and mostly friendly staff. I do tire of members camping out on machines and acting indignant when they are asked to share. This is especially true of teen boys. Maybe more prominent signs?
The front desk is friendly!
For the past few months I have been participating in the Water Aerobics with Miriam, Carol and Zon, and have LOVED it. All instructors are SO GOOD, however I have to say that Zon brings so much energy to her class that I can't wait till Wednesdays. I wish that there were classes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I have also taken the Adult Strength class with Andrew and have really enjoyed that class. Unforturnatly since his Tuesday class is right after Carol's Water Aerobics class, I don't have enough time to make the 10:00 time frame.
The programs and activities are welcoming, well-thought out, and guided by skilled instructors. Thank yo so much!
The group dance classes are my favorite.
Diverse selection of programs, great staff.
Many Senior oriented exercise classes.
Variety of programs. Trained people lead them.
Lots of good people & lots of fun!
Soccer, basketball, swimming
Nice class selection and facility is close and offers many conveniences for me.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Instructors are really good and I like the way the encourage students to do training, but they always say do what’s comfortable for your body.
I really like the gym and the variety of equipment. The facility is clean, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I also enjoy the different fitness programs and activities offered.
Love the fitness instructers . I hope you are giving the ones who been at the Decatur Y for a while a raise! I love the variety of classes
You start on time very good in instructing what needs to be done doing workout activities
There is a wide selection of workout equipment and classes. The staff are always willing to help you when you have questions.
Great community and excellent instructors
Wonderful facilities
Everyone is welcome to every class -multi generational - multi- ethnic
Casual athletic dress and no shaming
The Decatur Family YMCA offers quality classes, spaces, and equipment in a welcoming and well-kept environment
Water Aerobics for seniors is great! Thank ya'll. My aunt who has memory issues is really enjoying it and the enthusiasm of the instructors.
Love the Y
Wonderful teachers and support staff.
Water Challenge is great. We not only get good exercise but have fun. I did Coach Approach with Ruth and loved it. I became a regular in the workout area.
Variety of classes and quality of instructors. Darryl and Karen E. are wonderful.
I enjoy the staffs hospitality. The machines at this location are always clean and working.
I like the upstairs Exercise room with all of the machines. Working on the machines gives me a great exercise experience.
great place to work-out. All shapes, sizes, ages, skill levels are in the Y at any one time. Just enough weights (I wish the pool was just a little less crowded in the early morning - but I just need to find better times to swim). I do not use any of the programs or activities. But I do use the basketball court - only to shoot a few hoops after lifting weights. Everybody (staff as well as other people using the facilities) is so wonderfully nice. Just a great community. Thanks!
