I would like more in-person cardio funk dance classes. I'm not a huge fan of Zumba... a lot of us prefer more Pop songs than just latin music (with latin music, the moves are more "flowy" and you don't work up a sweat as much. PLEASE bring back in-person cardio funk dance classes. We had a great instructor -- Melanie Smith -- who is currently teaching Step & Strong out at the Springs Y. Would love to have her or their cardio dance instructor, Annette Hiller, teach in person at the Southwest Y.
Friendly staff, excellent equipment, and a nice aquatics program make the Southwest Austin YMCA a 10!
I just love that place it is literally the greatest
More voli bioll for kids
This program is wonderful for beginners and those kids that are wanting to play for fun. The focus is on individual improvement and team work.
Waiting to see what senior programs get added.
Swimming!!!
I love the water aerobics. I haven’t tried anything else.
We like coming late am how before close and walking in the track and using the machines.
The friendliness of the staff along with a clean environment
Love Sat morning spin!
They are fun and not to competitive. The commitment to practice and games is not too much. My kids have FUN!!!
Fun and casual atmosphere. My kid is not a professional sportswoman. I want her to work hard, move her body, improve her skills and most of all - have fun doing those things. The Y philosophy fits those goals. It is also more affordable than many other sports leagues. I do wish practice was a little longer each week, 45 min isn’t much time. Or, it could be 45 minutes but twice a week.
I love the "fun." Kids sports are so competitive these days, but y'all make it fun to learn and grow. The environment on the volleyball team was supportive and forgiving. My daughter thrived.
Nice choice of classes
I love the community feeling! Good job!
Rebecca was a great instructor for Yoga!
The outdoor pool, the staff, the yoga class, the "family" feel.
Our family really enjoys the outdoor pool and we are so glad it has reopened!
I mainly just use the weight room and get on a recumbent bike on my recoup days from weight training. I am really impressed with the very clean facilities. They are kept in immaculate condition. I have swam in the past once and was impressed with the clean pool and water condition. Great staff at YMCA Southwest!
Ronnie Cauley
Swim instructor; weight machines
for an 83 year old, i use the bicycle and walking track. i like the equipment being indoor.
My gym experience has been great. Everyone is wearing their mask at all times, wiping down their equipment when they’re done working out, and everyone is trying to social distance the best they can. The gym is nice and clean with plenty of signage reminding occupants to wear mask and social distance, temperature checks every time ...I feel safe😀
Thank you for all you do.
Outdoor classes, friendly staff, clean facilities, mask policy. Thank you!
Great yoga teacher - Rebecca Berryman (In person & on Zoom)
Renee Deeter's Zoom Senior Fitness class
Variety and availability of early evening classes
A lot to choose from!!
Being there for us when we need it, flexibility, responding to change. The outdoor pool has been a wonderful example of this for the past year. It has made a big difference in my quality of life. Joe and the life guards are the best!
I like the classes, particularly yoga and Zumba

We love YMCA volleyball! Two of our kids have been participating for a couple of years. Just wish we'd gotten involved with it earlier.
