The flexibility of the schedule and the fact that Mrs. Patty is willing to work out a payment plan that helps you out. Also the kids can get points and turn them in to get little rewards as an incentive, but what I really love about Sylvans was the fact that my child wanted to go back the next day after his first session.
The convenience and friendly staff are services I like about the Sylvan Learning Center in Mt. Pleasant.

We have two boys (11 and 6) who attend six hours of tutoring sessions per week. They both struggle academically at school, so Sylvan is helping them to reach grade-level status and to increase confidence levels moving forward. The director of the Mount Pleasant Sylvan traveled to their school to meet with all of the boys' teachers in order to gain insight into how they could work together to meet the common goal. Staff is great and the boys enjoy their sessions.
My son is doing better in school and he tells me the tutoring is helping.

Help improve my child’s study habits
The program may not be what my son needs. I seem to have to make all suggestions instead of the tutor figuring out any of his struggles and helping with them.
I love everything about it.
It help my child to get to get detailed counseling , school homwork and study.

I am glad to see the testing that occurs from day number one. Sylvan started from the point my son didn't understand math and worked towards the point he needed to be. For years I have paid for private tutors thinking it was the best way to go, but I was incorrect. I can see that my son has more confidence in Math, after just two months with Sylvan. I would recommend that you take advantage of the slow summer season and enroll at that time. Even though you might be a high school student, Sylvan Learning Center still can help your child understand and in the process actually pay less than a private tutor. I highly recommend the Mt. Pleasant, SC office.

I thought our Kirk fa made tremendous progress, and the program was tailored well to the school standards. I have already recommended Sylvan several times.
I never heard any feedback on his progress or what he needed to work more on.

Disorganized. I explained several times to different people what I wanted and after 3 classes it still was not happening.
In just the few weeks my son has been attending there has been wonderful progress and he has moved for a B reading level to a D.

My son will soon be tested to see if he is ADD/ADHD. I was tild that Sylvan was a great tutoring source. After 3 visits I was told that the center could no longer provide services for my son.
Having Sylvan's built into our son's schedule has been an invaluable service, not only to helping our son gain confidence and skills, but it has helped to save the parent child relationship!!
