First and foremost, I LOVE center Manager Julia Inostroza-Jackson! She was clear, encouraging and helpful in laying out what services are available and how HLC would work to focus on growth areas for my child.
My child was NOT happy about getting help at HLC, but after some time spent getting an introduction to HLC with Ms. Julia, a relationship had clearly been built - trust had been built - walls came down, and my child came out of that meeting with a good attitude about going to HLC. As a parent, it was half the battle just to see my child feel better about the opportunity because someone who cares so deeply was able to reach her.
All the services and promises of results in the world mean nothing if there aren’t excellent people like Julia at the top. I sincerely believe Julia’s heart for what she does is on full display - and that trickles down to the Teachers who work at HLC. It is obvious that there are some exceptional Teachers on staff, and I am happy to say my child is enjoying working with them.
Many times people make more of a difference than a business model - and in the case of the HLC on Douglas Rd. in Oswego, that couldn’t be more true! I have zero regrets about placing my child at HLC for the academic support she needs.

I like that they have assisted in identifying our child’s problem areas. They kept in touch every step. Our 7 year old has struggled with liking school and struggles with ADHD but he reminds us and is ready to go learn every time he has a tutoring session. He likes all the instructors he has there.

Huntington conducts individual based assessments and then develops a needs based academic plan. In schools, the child has to meet the academic goals. At Huntington, the academic goals are designed to meet the child's needs. My child learned that she can learn. She learned that she can master the tasks. She developed a sense of pride in her accomplishments. This is best system for children to grow and develop.
So many great teachers and different personalities to make each student feel comfortable. My son looks forward to working with a couple of the teachers here and that means as much as all they are teaching him.
Outstanding services provided by Huntington Learning Center at Lake Ridge. My child's grade has improved tremendously, earning an A in Algebra I. His tutor is excellent and has thorough of the subject and explains math concepts in a way that my child can understand and retain. I highly recommend Huntington Learning Center- Lake Ridge for your child's academic needs.
