What do you like about our services?

This gym is the gold standard that all other martial arts academies should follow. Culture, instructors and members.

What do you like about our services?

I love what you've got going on. The culture is great. The facility is so big and clean and happily noisy. The energy is great. Such a courteous staff!
My only suggestions for improvement pertain to the teaching strategy for the 3.5-7 year olds. I fully support and appreciate your focus on instilling discipline, respect, and focus. Yay. But they are children - very, very young children. The teaching style cannot be a slightly modified version of the adult style. Imagine if a college professor did not alter their language, pace, or expectations for a preschool class. They would fail.
E.g. most of the kids probably don't know right from left. So you can't yell "right" and "left" at them, and expect them to know what to do. It just makes them feel lost, and lost is not a good feeling. Similarly, instructions must be broken down into digestible explanations. Not "wrap your hand around their bicep" --- most of them probably don't know what a bicep is. Something more like "wrap your hand like a snake under the branch and grab it close to the trunk of the tree." Demonstrated multiple times, from multiple angles, and repeated individually as they practice. It will take thoughtful preparation, but they might actually understand you.
We, as parents, are all hoping that our kids will fall in love with the art and the sport. But for them to like it, they have to enjoy it. And to enjoy it, they have to (1) understand what is expected (i.e. in language they can grasp) so they can feel successful, or at least hopeful; and (2) have fun. So, in addition to the discipline, class must be fun - and maybe even a little silly at times. Kids are silly. They have only been alive a handful of years. They're not ready for Army Seal training. :-)

What do you like about our services?

I like how you treat each student especially the kids. It's not overly aggressive. But also, there is a LARGE of group of kids, I really think each coach need to personalize their interactions with each students and instead of standing around, get on your knees and arms and help coach the students. Sometimes the kids do not know what they are doing, coach them where to place their arms, legs, head, shoulders etc...Maybe help them move their arms, legs, head to the correct position.

What do you like about our services?

Great facility with a receptionist and showers. Good instruction and I like the way the upper belts choose the newer lower belts to help with drills

What do you like about our services?

I like this location. There are certainly a lot of members but the intructor/s do a good job keeping the classes moving. I feel like it may be a better fit for my 9yr old.

The reason we started going to this location is that we moved.

I loved this gym - one of my favorites so far. Front desk staff was so kind and welcoming. This is my first week of jujitsu. The professor was so nice, small class which was great. Awesome laidback and welcoming energy here. I will be back for sure!

What do you like about our services?

Your schedule has a lot of options, and I love the Sunday classes! As a working parent, I don't have a ton of flexibility in my own schedule, so I appreciate that there are classes every day- and I can make it in 3x a week at intervals that feel good for my body.

I've taken kickboxing with most of the coaches- and the way they approach technique is consistent- but everyone has their own flair. I want to give a shout out to Donella for inviting student input and explaining some of the cultural practices of the class. I finally learned what "Kap khun krap" meant.

My Muay Thai coaches have primarily been Ben and Chris. Ben is an excellent coach, and we're lucky to have him. He's particularly good at helping the class focus on one or two things to learn for the day- and he's really encouraging-and loud. He helps drown out some of the self-criticism that gets in the way of better performance.

Chris's Friday classes are super fun and challenging. He's direct- which I also appreciate- and does a good job of orienting students to the long game in both the techniques he teaches and the messages he shares at the end of class.

Here are three things I think would improve the experience at Easton Arvada:

1) A return of some version of the female fight club. I am SOO bummed Bailey left before I could take advantage of it- and now that I'm in Muay Thai and watching more fights, doing my own research, I get what an asset that was for the women at our location. It's kind of hard to explain why it matters that it was just for ladies- but it does. It felt like you guys REALLY wanted us here- and now it feels less that way.

2) I kind of stumbled into this sport, so I didn't grow up watching some of these fighters that our coaches recommend looking up. I usually have no idea how to spell their names- and sometimes I'm never able to find the guys they're talking about. What if we put up QR codes that linked to tape- or at least the names of the fighters who are known for whatever technique we're working on that week in Muay Thai- on the white board?

Easton also has a bunch of old YouTube videos with evergreen content that would be great to share.

3) The website could use some work. It hasn't been very useful for getting event info or coaching schedules- and some of the info is outdated. I think Patti's bio is from another era when she had a different name...
