Love the teaching atmosphere and love that all players get game time
We did have one game this season where the coach and parents of our opposing team were not demonstrating sportsmanship…were negative, yelling at our players and the referee and would not let their team shake the hands of our players after the game. That was a stressful game but thankfully not the norm for our Y experience.
I hope that coach will be removed from future seasons. Soccer boys 11-12 bobcats
Everyone is very supportive and encouraging of the kids. Communication regarding changes due to weather were very timely.
Consistent. Organized. Great staff and coaches.
Coaches and player skill improvement
It was enjoyable to have my kids play in this soccer program. We wished that there were more sports offered for our teens ages 14-18 that are in high school. Also it would be good to offer soccer for this age in other seasons.
I love everything about the ymca. The app, the people , the message behind playing sports. I love everything except the awful jerseys. They are too thick and boring. Please bring back a lighter material version and different team colors.
The programs are generally great and facilities have been top notch.
That said, one area that needs improvement. My son played tee ball and from my understanding, as long as an inning starts before :40 the inning gets played. We consistently had an umpire that would end games that had barely passed :30, which is unfortunate for the children and comes off downright lazy. I get that tee ball isn’t the most enthralling of games to watch over, but it is where kids learn fundamentals and more importantly team work, games should not last only 30 minutes and consist of two innings…the staff needs to play by the rules and love the YMCA values just as much as the kids and parents, quite the shame to an otherwise great experience with YMCA.
This is a very fun for kids and adults and very safe I really happy with all they offer for us.. thanks YMCA
Team vibe
Loved the spirit of the game & the girls on our team.
Christian based, focus on sportsmanship
The Eastide was humid and hot. The westside gym was not as hot. The hvacs seem to need a lot of work.
Intro to Soccer was nice only having 7 players. That let every kid in the team play. Nice rotation!
How many readily available programs there are to choose from throughout the year
It is organize and friendly staff.
My daughter really enjoyed playing this year. The coaches were great and Mariah learned so much. The games were a little earlier but other than that a really good season.
It is very consistent and getting more organized.
Fields are great at Cibolo and mays. Like games are Saturday and practice only one day a week.
Our first time doing flag football. Son enjoyed it, but Please consider offering soccer for 13-14 age group next season.
I liked the atmosphere, the beautiful gym, and the staff. She played volleyball at club and it was a very negative place so we took her out. I put her at the y volleyball league. She loves the teammates, and they had good team spirit and worked well together. The parents were not gossiping in the bleachers like the other place. Very friendly!
Our son’s coach is great! The fields are always in great shape, we love the vendors that come to sell snacks, sufficient parking.
Youth Sports
Great facilities! A place to start your child to learn the sport and not be focused on competition.
Schedule was good, short season, and rules of the game supported level of sport
Family oriented and uncomplicated
I appreciate the idea that my granddaughter was included and encouraged. Coach was very gentle and considerate. This allowed my 4 year old daughter to experience the effort of teamwork and consistency.
Volleyball/ the sportsmanship/ leaders and facilities
Everything
It was well planned and organized. I do wish that there was better communication with coaches in advance, that the refs were all the way familiar with the rules (especially about headers), and that suggested practice plans were provided.
The staff is always super attentive and clearly have a lot of passion for their craft.

My son has played the last 4 years with YMCA sports. He loves it! The coaches are usually very good and volunteers. The staff is kind, fair and accommodating.
