We enjoyed private swim lessons at the Y. I’m glad the Y offered this option. My son is a good swimmer but needed extra coaching with his advance strokes and the private classes he took at the Y helped him build his confidence and technique. His teacher was a young adult (woman) who was an experience swimmer, which helped him relate and feel at ease.
Good instructors, friendly neighbors taking same classes I do. Caroline is GREAT!!! Love her Silver Sneakers class.

The program was great! The instructor was attentive and informative, as well as kind. My only complaint is that the restroom at the facility (Pickerel Park) was filthy. On different days there were used toilet paper, urine, or feces on the floor in the ladies restroom and on at least one of the days, it was not cleaned up from the day before.
My son had coach Samuel. He did a fantastic job with the kids and my son grew so much over the two weeks! We had a previously horrible experience at another swim school and we were very nervous for the new experience. Within two lessons Samuel had gained my son’s trust and was able to learn so much! We will be back!
They are an affordable lesson for water safety.
The Y at Potranco is a bit of a distance from my home in Helotes. However, I really enjoy the Silver Sneakers Classic class that Inez teaches on Thursday, so I make the trip. The class is so popular that I have to set my alarm to remind me to sign up within just a few minutes of 11:45! I also like the convenience of the library in the building. The people who check me in at the front desk are always so friendly and polite. It's worth the drive!
