It's been a wonderful experience. Our son loves going to Sylvan even though he is above his grade level. It challenges him to be better every day.
To begin with, I was very impressed with the attentiveness, knowledge , and courtesy of the director Michelle Blackmon. She listened to my grandson’s requirements and schedule and was able to tailor a preparatory schedule to make him ready for upcoming SAT test. I can. Give a more detailed opinion of the effectiveness of the preparatory courses in couple of months.
Oliver has shown tremendous progress in reading and writing in just 11 sessions. The program is working! And he enjoys coming for tutoring also.
I chose Sylvan because I received my Professional Life Coaching Certification through one of Sylvan Founder, Berry Fowler's other companies. When I wanted to get my son tutoring and test prep, I figured that if what he created for the kids is a fraction as good as the training I received, there, there's no better place for my kid to be!
The staff is attentive, patient & caring. I don't remember most of the math stuff my son is learning today and Sylvan is throwing things at him that he wasn't even taught before. I can't/don't blame them for that... I THANK THEM for that. Better my son spend six months learning now what he should have learned in 6th thru 9th grade, than have him take his ACT and crash & burn because he had no clue of those concepts.
Parents SAY they want their kids to have better lives but they don't expose them to what a "better life" looks like. I was an average student because I was lazy. I didn't have Sylvan in my life... BUT MY SON IS GOING TO HAVE SYLVAN IN HIS!
Our son does not like to do school work, but goes willingly to Sylvan with no complaints. Can't wait to see the results when school starts.

My daughter enjoys her experience at the North Chatham Sylvan learning center.
Heather is the best. She’s polite, professional, and responsive. In addition, my son loves it, he’s learning, and has nothing but good things to say about his experience.
The director and all the tutors are great. The director is really helpful and works very hard to ensure we can get our kids the help they need. My son does not really enjoy school or learning but he loves learning at Sylvan. I’m so grateful to see the progress he has made thus far and even more excited to see what’s next.
My son enjoys going and I think it is helping with his math and writing/reading :)
Our daughter started with some 2nd grade math skills going into 5th grade! 😳 She is going into 7th grade and is nearly at grade level in an academically rigorous school. 😃🎉 The first summer she went 4 times a week then 2 times a week to keep her math skills on target and will soon transition to some composition writing tutoring. A huge investment, but so worth it for her future.

Sylvan is very dedicated to their clients needs and achievements. They are very kind, and seem to specialize in making sure kids have a unique-to-them program that will allow them to learn and grow at the pace they need to succeed. They keep tutoring fun and educational with their token system, allowing kids to have rewards along with their learning. I would recommend their business to those who are in need of help!

Very awesome experience . My daughter came in with little to no confidence in math. Since she has started Sylvan, she is very excited to learn and proud of herself when she understands a concept . The points reward system is great because it gives her something to look forward to each time . She has also made friends with other children which helps as well. Awesome director and staff .
