Sylvan has been a life saver for us and our children throughout the shutdowns of the school and navigating the remote learning. Sylvan was very good at keeping me informed and immediately responded to my questions. My daughter was always welcomed and tutors were great. All staff were friendly and professional. They really seemed to care.
During a time of COVID19 it has been difficult for a lot of families. Also, some are just recovering from the hurricane that took place a few years ago. We are one of those families. After moving 4 times in 6 months not due to any fault of our own and dealing with COVID19 we have only been in our new home for just a year. (sold home, hurricane destroyed rental, moved to another rental, rental sold, moved in with family member, finally moved in our own home) I almost said just forget trying to pay the extra money for tutoring. However after speaking with the Sylvan representative they were able to work a plan out that was a great fit for my budget. I am very appreciative for all of their help and the support they gave to my daughter as she prepared to take the SAT test.
What I like most is, my daughter is enjoying going. It is not a fight...she looks forward to it. She is also, for the first time possibly ever, sharing with me what she is learning about math, a subject she usually cries over. She is developing an understanding and a sense of, I can do this! I only wish I could have financially been able to do this sooner.

Rewarding: I like the opportunity for him to be rewarded on the skills he learns that makes him a better student and supports a good work ethic. The staff is wonderful to work with, I have had several schedule changes that have been accommodated by this team. The reporting results, I enjoy seeing the measured progress!
I love that each tutor never has more than 3 children at a time! This is huge for a child needing more one on one time. His school teachers are amazing but have a class full and cannot always give the attention that my son receives from Sylvan!

Staff are kind and truly show interest in your child's learning while giving them a functional and wholesome learning environment. They make learning fun all the while teaching them skills to work independently as well as with a group of peers. They tailor the lessons to suit the child without detracting from the needed support i.e my son is there to bolster his Language Arts program however likes to work on cursive so they have adapted his lesson plan to include not only manuscript but cursive writing as well.
Great personable service. My daughter has had nothing but positive things to say about her instructors. Within 3 weeks we noticed a huge difference in our daughters confidence and grades.
The small groups are great and provide more individual learning that can not be provided in the public school system.
I also like that the program "works!" It feels like money well spent when I sit and listen to my grandson read a book that he typically would leave sitting on the shelf.
