Member Testimonials
The facility is excellent, the class selection is super, and the staff is personable and knowledgeable. I go 4 - 6 times a week
Convenience of times for classes
The group classes are really fun
I’m a 5:00 am member so there are not many if any programs for me at that time of day. But I must submit that the staff who man the desk and the cardio, weight, cycling studio and track are your best feature. They are welcoming, helpful and an absolute pleasure to be around. They care about the job they do and it shows.
Great place with great people.
I work out on my own. I like the variety of equipment.

My only comment is a wish that the management of the Y would make themselves more available to the membership. I spend a lot of time at the Y and the only persons I know are Carol Anne and Christine. I wish management would take time to circulate and introduce themselves to membership
Kids kept engaged busy and active and safe
Positive reinforcement
Flexibility to move indoors depending on weather
Camp hours are structured to accommodate working parents’ schedule
The diversity of classes
I have been a member since 2004. It's the best way to start my day. Friendly staff. Great group classes. The only thing is why does the cycle room have to be 62 degrees? I like to cycle. It's hard work so I get very sweaty. That and the air conditioning - I freeze there. Unfortunately I have Raynaud's Syndrone which makes my fingers and toes very susceptible to the cold. Sometimes I have to leave the class. Anyway just my thoughts. MOst people are probably fine in there so I will adjust as I need to.
At this point I have only ventured to the EGYM. I find it challenging in its format, since it keeps track of every effort on the machines. I particularly like that it adjusts the machine settings when I start each one.
I have many questions about the use of the machines, but it's hard to find someone who can answer them. I would suggest that the orientation process include a follow-up a few weeks after the initial meeting to answer such questions.

Great gym, sauna, warm water pool and outdoor pools!
Great instructors.
I only attend for the gym equipment. The facility maintains the equipment in excellent condition notwithstanding the high amount of use.
The only negative is its popularity drives some crowds in the morning, encouraging me to arrive early (7:15am or earlier).
Great options!
The Kennett YMCA is a friendly place. Meet new people. You can either do individual exercises or join a group exercise program.. Also there are social activities one may join. There are opportunities to volunteer if you wish.
I highly recommend the Kennett YMCA.
Yoga with Julianne is amazing! She is a gem.
One suggestion I do have is to reevaluate the holidays and Friday/Saturday hours of operation. Memorial Day for example was open half day, not sure if you can go back and run the stats for that day and see how many people came in but every weight machine was occupied some with two people cycling in to do sets while the other rested it was so hard to get a workout done in an hour I got there at 10am I believe. Fridays and Saturdays the gym closes early, all of us who are in there are pushed out 5min before closing. I know we will never get the pre pandemic era hours of operations due to budget/labor I understand it’s not easy to just change overnight. I would not have said anything but the email came in my inbox asking for feedback. So if I had a wishlist it would be extend hours of operations Friday and Saturday, as it is now it prevents me from getting into gym.
Easy Encouraging.
The Y has all the equipment and programs anyone could possibly need to achieve their fitness goals. I have particularly been enjoying the egym which offers a comprehensive workout that is also fun.
Great programs and activities.
There is a variety
The variety.
Kennett Area YMCA offers a variety of physical and enrichment activities, including programs and activities for those with disabilities.
Variety & good time frames. Good instructors
Good clean facilities that are not too big.
