Member Testimonials
Super friendly staff, workout area well-supplied and well-organized, easy place to focus on my fitness goals without worrying about being distracted by influencers or gym hookup culture.
After being away from the YMCA for several years due to a move from Olathe to North Carolina, I recently rejoined the Olathe YMCA and I’m very glad I did. While living in NC, there wasn’t a YMCA within a reasonable driving distance, so I joined a private club instead. That experience made it clear just how strong the YMCA model really is.
The YMCA experience in Olathe, as well as at other YMCAs I’ve visited over the years while traveling, has consistently been far better than what I experienced at a private club. The facilities, atmosphere, and sense of community truly stand out.
I’ve been back as a member for about a week now and have primarily been using the pool. I also participated in a Tuesday morning aqua fitness class, which was an excellent workout. The instructor was welcoming, engaging, and highly motivating I will definitely be taking that class again.
Overall, I’m extremely pleased to be back at the Olathe YMCA and look forward to continuing my fitness routine here.
Very relaxed atmosphere in the workout area

You have great community involvement. Would you please offer a cycling program for Parkinson’s patients!!!
Nice staff, always helpfully, their too help you anyway they can…. Best place to work out
The feeling of community I get at every visit. The Olathe Y is a positive environment with a staff that cares about you! I love the activity pool as it’s warm, inviting, and allows me to relax! Colleen Markman
I love the classes and options to work out. The only thing I don't love is that the pool only has 3 lanes...so it limits you. I would also love more classes in the evenings. If the weekend classes were later in the day it would be great too.
Instructors are top quality and personable, classes and activities are great, admin staff is very helpful and kind, this place feels like family!
We have always been blessed by helpful, friendly, service oriented people at the Y. We appreciate the facilities to which we have access.
Group classes
My husband and I are in out 80's and go to the Active Older Adult classes at Olathe YMCA. These classes are taught by skilled Older Active Adults certified trainers. We work on strength, flexibility and mobility. We enjoy the community aspect that helps keep us with good mental health. The Olathe YMCA provides us for opportunities to keep us healthy and actie.

The variety of equipment. No wait for available equipment. The cleanliness of the facility. The knowledgeable and friendly staff.
I have been going for about 4 years. The entire staff is very friendly and can answer all the questions I have asked. I now have a Personal Trainer that I have been with for almost 2 years and she has just been fantastic.

I can workout by myself or with a scheduled group. Everyone is very friendly at my YMCA in Olathe KS.
I like the welcoming atmosphere at the Olathe YMCA. Team Members in the Welcoming Center ensure that each person is acknowledged and assisted. Michele Leifert does a terrific job teaching exercise classes while also coordinating all the events and activities in the community.
great staff and super programs
The pm and Sat body pump teachers are great. Glad you still have Les Mills. Wish you had same classes around 10 am M-F.
I’ve only been twice. I like that it hasn’t been crowded when I’ve come.

I just finished my first two new member orientation sessions. Kayla and Julie were awesome. I like that they were friendly, positive, and non-judgmental. They answered my questions and walked me through the system slowly and clearly.
