The product maintenance is once a year and it seems durable.
Only complaint is that the battery holder 'should' be constructed in a stronger fashion. Maybe put a tighten down lid that is threaded or snapped in place. I have to tape mine in place each time we change the batteries.

Like I have said in the past, I have been doing business with Rock Valley Culligan for years and have never had an issue!! I did, however, just discontinued my drinking water because I wasn't drinking that much!! I found that it was just as easy to use the tap water!!
