Before we found High Park Mathnasium we were frustrated, stressed and very anxious about mathematics. I vividly remember the fist day that our daughter went to Mathnasium - beginning in Grade 9 with the TDSB curriculum. They accepted her right away and started working with her immediately.
We had been to other math tutoring services before and had given up, as the specially timed intake appointments, test, waiting for results, payments upfront only compounded our frustration and negative emotions towards math. Mathnasium was totally different. They understand how to first deal with the frustration and downright anger we felt towards the public school math approach and the lack of real teaching that was going. It is so hard to find a good math teacher! Jessie's whole attitude towards math changed when she started going to Mathnasium. After the first day of dropping her off, she was eager to return and from then on worked hard to understand and was motivated to work harder.
Mathnasium tutored, coached, mentored and taught Jessie with a wide variety of curricula, including Toronto District School Board (TDSB), the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the Standardized Aptitude Test (SAT) for acceptance into American universities. Throughout the 4 years Mathnasiums maintained it's very high standards and never let us down. They continued to be generous with their time. It may not be good to advertise the fact that Jessie often popped into Mathnasium on an emergency basis - like the night before a quizz or when she forgot to book a time slot or when she wanted to stay after closing to keep working on a problem. Mathnasium always accommodated her in a friendly, professional manner. Again, they made it such a positive experience. Their services are worth more than just the improved math grades and SAT scores. I really appreciate how they managed to diffuse the tension and made the stress over math disappear. We are currently waiting to see which university she will be accepted into; but, feel relaxed and confident, as Mathnasium enabled her to do her best.
We never have any trouble getting Spencer to go to mathnasium. For a kid to show no reluctance to go to an after school program for additional help says a lot about the people who work there and the environment. Spencer’s marks have improved and he is a lot more confident with math.

My daughters enjoyed attending Mathnasium and we could see a big jump in their math skills. They liked the teachers and I liked the help they provided through their explanations. We are taking a break for a few months but we will be back as the benefits are evident.
I continue to see an improvement in my children's confidence when it comes to math.
I would like to thank Carlos, Thomas and all the staff at High Park Mathnasium who have been helping our daughter Jessie for the past four years with excellent results. Right from the beginning, when she arrived without notice for emergency help studying for a math test the next day to booking a tutor every day when studying for the SATs over this past summer, they were always so welcoming and immediately took all the stress away from both of us.
Our daughter studied first with Mathnasium when attending a private school, then in a International Baccalaureate (IB) school; and, more recently for the Standardized Apptitude Test (SAT) for admissions into a U.S. University. With all of these curricula Carlos and the team managed them professionally and without any problems switching form the TDSB curriculum to these other ones.
After just a few sessions we felt that we could really lean on them for help. The staff also coached her on test taking strategies. To help relieve the stress of the parents, they were never aggressive and strict about payments.
I really appreciated how they accepted her right away and were always generous with their time. They always wanted to help the students with Math far more than making sure they had money from me!
From the first day and onwards, they made Jessie welcome and relaxed about Math. Her whole attitude towards it changed, which helped so much.

I like that Mathanasium provides an environment where kids are taught to focus for one hour on something important. The environment fosters the importance of math and the students learn to take math more seriously. The they practice math, the better they get, build their confidence, and want to strive to do well in math at school as a result of attending Mathansium.

My daughter has had a positive experience with Mathnasium. She is more confident and has started to like math again. As a parent, it would be nice to get some feedback on how my child is doing, maybe on a monthly basis. If I had that I would give you a 10.

All great. My kids enjoy it. They seem to think it’s helping them with school math. The only reason I would hesitate to refer to a friend is the price. Not everyone I know would be able to afford it.
Although good in math, my daughter has been regularly practicing at Mathnasium for the past two years. She likes it, because she knows that she'll get help whenever needed. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and create an easygoing atmosphere.

My daughter has been attending Mathnasium for a few marks. With Mathnasium her math marks are consistenly A's - without Mathnasium her grades drop significantly.
