Not all heroes wear capes, but Richie at Smithtown Mathnasium might as well! My 8yr old is working on math well beyond her grade level, concepts like scale factors, reduced fractions, simplest forms and much more! One particular day was challenging, and with tears in her eyes, and self-defeat creeping in….. in walked Richie, like a superhero as he was supposed to be on vacation!
He turned everything around!! With patience and clarity, he broke down the material in a way she could truly grasp. In that moment, everything clicked, her confidence returned, the joy came back to her face, and her "craziness for math" was back!! It was smiles all around! Richie, Kevin, and the entire Smithtown Mathnasium team consistently make math fun, accessible, and engaging not just for her but for every student they work with. We have been happy with the online services provided to our daughter. The tutors have been great and very accommodating for our daughter. She never feels rushed even if her session goes slightly over the one-hour block. We look forward to their assistance again in the fall.

Rich and the staff at Smithtown Mathnasium do a great job at accommodating and teaching. Place is great. I like that it’s a classroom setting and not a home setting which can lead to distractions.

The owner is beyond knowledgeable and accommodating. There is a genuine dedication to the students who are being tutored there. Absolutely recommend for anyone whose child needs support, test review, or to be taught a specific topic. They are specialists in tailoring lessons to your child’s unique needs. Staff are also personable and professional.

This is a wonderful place to send your child if they are struggling with math. Richard, the owner and his teammates are wonderful. They helped my daughter who
has a hard time with math and math is not her favorite subject. So for her to want to go that is a good sign that this place is helping her and for this we are grateful.

Mathnasium of Smithtown has been such a great resource to have for our middle schooler. Throughout the year, she has had the opportunity to frequent Mathnasium of Smithtown for help with homework, understanding new concepts and building overall math confidence. She just finished her final exam for the year and said, "it was easy", which was not something she has said since learning abruptly online staring and through the pandemic. I would encourage any parent who needs to help bridge any educational gaps by using Mathnasium of Smithtown, because they meet every child right where they are without shame and the staff work with them to build important foundational learning skills.

My 8 year old daughter looks forward to going to her Mathnasium sessions. Richard and his team make the environment fun and engaging. It is obvious to see they all take great care in encouraging kids to think critically and work independently - not just a math homework tutor center. Mathnasium provides its own materials for the kids.
They understand the importance of having kids take time to understand the ideas and concepts and not just committing to memory a formula or process.
