My daughter is “crazy for math” now and thats all thanks to Richard and his team at Smithtown Mathnasium. Richard has an extraordinary way of making math fun and my daughter cant wait and is genuinely excited about her math session every time. He makes the “FUN” of math contagious to his entire team. All the tutors bring a level of excellence and it’s obvious they are all dedicated to not just teaching math, but fostering a deep understanding and love for the subject. Furthermore, Rich and his team take the time to understand each student, their quirks (such as needing things to be in rainbow order), their strengths and weaknesses, and foster the student as a whole. Their ability to break down complex math problems, and explain things calmly and patiently is astounding. This personalized approach has created such a sense of confidence in her abilities, making her feel supported and empowered to tackle even the most challenging problems. I’ve been witness to my daughter and other kids with a math frown, literally turned upside down! Rich has an excellent ability to be on the students level to explain things, to bring them out of a funk or “I can’t do this” attitude and its remarkable seeing such a big smile on her face every time she succeeds. On top of all this, the entire Mathnasium is kept clean and sanitary right down to disinfecting the pencils! I could not ask for more, and highly recommend Smithtown Mathnasium.
My husband and I love that our daughter loves coming here and getting the help she needs for math. The owner Richard is the nicest person as well as his staff. There are so many things we love about Mathnasium. To start, the initial phone conversation was outstanding. Mathnasium creates a positive learn space to instill confidence, provide tools and strengthen math learning skills. It is structured and individualized and we just loved the experience during the 4 week summer program. In our house we referred to it as Math Camp and our student looked forward to every visit. Our student's goal was "to learn how to learn math" not just to achieve better grades and we are launching an optimistic student this year.
My daughter has been able to improve her grades and confidence in class with the help of Mathnasium. I have and will continue to recommend the program to others.
My son is in 8th grade and struggling with Algebra I. He was basically failing so I decided to bring him here and thankfully I did. He passed the regents which I am very happy about. The mentors there are great too. My son liked them all.

My 10th grade son needed ongoing help with Algebra ll. Appointments were booked on the app, anytime, with ease…the tutors were amazing- friendly, smart, challenging and encouraging but helping him to work through the problems. I initially signed up for 5 sessions- reasonably priced- kept going back bc he was getting so much out of it. Highly recommend!
Mathnasium has been able to help my daughter pass and exceed in Algebra 2 and Precalculus. Along with improving her grades, it allowed to her to reduce the anxiety associated with these classes by giving her the confidence to understand and comprehend the topics.

Natalia has been attending for a few weeks. She finds it productive that there are different teachers each time she attends, as they all have different methods to explain things. Although she has her preferences, she finds each teacher very knowledgable and helpful. i am hoping that as she progresses, her grades and test taking improves as well.
Robert seems quite skilled at assessing learning levels of individual students and working with them to assist them to gain a better understanding of mathematical concepts. The team members are very friendly and knowledgeable as well. I appreciate the flexibility in scheduling too as our schedules often change. We’ve had an amazing experience so far! My 10th grader was struggling in Algebra II. He’s been to 3 tutor sessions- all so helpful and he enjoys going.
My son had an awful Algebra II teacher last year. She told him to drop her class often because it was too hard for him. With the support he received at the Smithtown Mathnasium, he scored an 81 on the regeants exam.

The Smithown location has been extremely helpful to both of my daughter's. One that struggled with math and one that was looking for help with BC Calculus. In all honesty, the daughter looking for help with BC calculus stopped coming for help because she felt that her math skills were s equal to that of some of the tutors. She didn't feel as though it was helping her and stopped coming. This doesn't diminish how helpful the center has been to both of my children over the past 5 years. Thank you for all of your help.
