Carlo (Owner) in Sparks NV was confronted regarding not assisting my child with his homework after attending for three days. The next day he advised that he would no longer provide services because there was no trust.
I don't believe he handled the situation properly and he should have looked further into the matter instead of the conclusion being to discharge my child from services.
Carlo and the staff are amazing with our daughter. She has gained so much of a better understanding of complicated math facts and her confidence has gone up. I would highly recommend them for math tutoring.
The tutors are friendly and interact with the students well. Great group of compassionate folks.
Both my girls (ages 11 & 15) had fallen behind in math. Needless to say I tried to help, but even 5th grade math, not to mention algebra, was too hard for even me! Heard about Mathnasium and after meeting with Carlo and his instructors, we signed up. I loved that the first thing they did was assess exactly how far behind they were and designed a study plan to catch them up so they would have the proper foundation to move on. After that, they helped monitor and further explain their current homework in an easy and fun way to learn. Both girls looked forward to going. And, I loved that they could go as often as necessary. Both have "graduated" if you will and have Bs. Should either of them feel they are having trouble again, we'll be back!
Carlo and the crew are amazing with the students! It doesn’t matter the grade/math level, they will connect in a way your child will understand and thrive. I highly recommend, seriously the best decision we ever made.
When it comes to our kid's future we are continuously trying to find the right path for them. Some things we have control over some we never will.
I seeked out help for my teenage daughter. She was struggling with math, she was the type of student that had all A's and then there was her math grade YIKES! I have had several tutors throughout the years for math to include high school students and college students all had been helpful to get her through the years. I realized my kid was frustrated and angry that math was not something she was ever going to understand. She refused additional help from me (mom) or school teacher, I knew I had to find her the help she needed. I had seen Mathnasium Learning Center, it is in the same shopping center where I do my grocery shopping. I recieved several postcards/mailers from them as well. A new school year and my daughter was already frustrated, and this was her Junior year with ACTs around the corner I felt I needed to try something new. I looked up learning centers, and of course Mathnasium right down the street popped up on my search. I read reviews and read some info on their website and I emailed them. I recieved an email with some info and I did have some additional questions and I was able to speak to Carlo. Carlo understood my goal and gave me our options and examples of a game plan for my daughter.
My daughter showed up the 1st time in September 2018 and now here we are in Feb 2019.
I have a teenager who has more confidence and seeks help with her homework. I have heard things like "OMG what time is it? I gotta go to tutoring" On a Saturday :-) This learning center has broken down math so she doesn't feel anxiety, stress or anger when she has to walk into class or has to ceomplete homework.
All the individuals have a genuine goal to help the kids get better at math. They are not there, just for a paycheck. They deal with tears and frustration from the parent's and kids. It has not been an overnight process, my daughter has had to put in the time.
I handed them a frustrated teenager and they have helped develop a young lady who has mor self confidence and breaths easier in math class. I no longer have to see my daughter have melt downs or just give me the " I don't care" comment because she doesn't understand a concept/formula in math.
I appreciate to the communication, if I have a question and I have to leave a message, Carlo calls shortly if not immediatly. Carlo and his staff has a passion for math and helping kids.
He also understands the home dynamics and the financial burdens we can face to incorporate this type of cost into our budget. He helps us parents get the best value for his help.
My daughter is very happy with Mathnasium and is very enthusiastic about going the Mathnasium as much as she can. She loves the staff and finds everyone to be very helpful with helping her learn. Thank you!
The very friendly and helpful staff has helped raise my daughter’s confidence and joy in math.
Can’t say enough good things about this place. My daughters grade went from a “D” to a “B” in just a little over a month. This place offers the math help kids need to succeed and overcome the challenges placed on them by today’s school system. Teachers aren’t allowed the time to give kids the attention needed to be successful in challenging classes leading to children losing confidence which then leads to failure. Carlo and his staff work with each child finding their way of learning and relating to math as we all learn differently. They are kind, respectful, patient and rewarding allowing a child’s confidence to grow as their math skills improve and develop. As a parent there’s no better feeling then to watch your child succeed. I would recommend this place to anyone wishing to see their child succeed in math.
