The staff members exercise kindness and patience with the kids, which is important as some kids have challenges focusing, challenges/barriers with math..."I can't do it", "I'm not as smart as other kids", etc. At Mathnasium Chapel Hill our 6th grade son has learned to move past those hurdles and gain increased confidence in the classroom. Kudos!

Our daughter has been going to Mathnasium for over a year now. She was really struggling in the beginning but has gained confidence, knowledge, and skill in that time. As a young teenage girl, building confidence in math I think is helping her overall confidence in herself. We have been very pleased with the experience for her and will continue as long as it continues to make a positive impact in her life.

Chris __ (? - supervises the tutors) is an asset to Mathnasium-Chapel Hill. I regret I cannot recall his last name. He's patient, kind, and very caring. Overall, our son has had good experiences with the tutors except once when a tutor was playfully teasing him, attempting to encourage him to strive harder, and our son took it poorly. We tried to mollify his reaction and it all worked out. Some kids respond to challenging by teachers, coaches, etc....ours, unfortunately, does not for the most part. On the whole, we've been very pleased with Mathnasium Chapel Hill, our son has said that it has helped him greatly. Kudos to the owners and the staff.
My daughter was a C/D pre-algebra student with significant holes in her foundational skills. After four months at Mathnasium of Chapel Hill, she was able to pass a placement test putting her in Algebra for 8th grade, which her teacher had originally said she wasn't ready for. Her teacher couldn't believe the progress she made over the summer spent at Mathnasium. She is currently an A/B Algebra student who enjoys math and comments how much more sense it makes to her now. I continue to take my child to Mathansium, and she loves going. The instructors are all nice and knowledgeable. Plus, the owners are genuinely concerned in helping your child succeed. They are two of the kindest people I've ever met.

I found it unique opportunity to deviate my child from common ipad and software games, Mathanisum was only time think by using his mind rather than tracking the eye seeing. As educator I encourage parents to safe mind of kid's for real development and creativity.
Our girls need intensive math tutoring. They enjoy the teachers and the process at Mathnasium so much.

We signed up our high school junior to help improve his SAT Math score. At this point, we can say that he has really enjoyed coming to Mathnasium for his sessions and says it has helped. It also has really boosted his confidence in taking the exam. He's taking the SAT today, so we'll let you know how it turns out!

Public school or large classroom math education can inevitably lead to gaps in learning. The schools are designed to follow concepts by the calendar date and not by student mastery of the concept. When my kids started attending Mathnasium, they repaired all of their holes in math learning over the years, and now they have a solid foundation of math that is powerful moving forward. The best thing my kids have is confidence in their competence in math reasoning. I attribute all of this to Mathnasium. My daughter said just this week, "I used to dread math; but honestly now I really like it, because I think the teachers at Mathnasium are nice. I feel more confident now in math. I teach the kids in my class math when they are confused by the teacher's instructions." I will add that I personally think students need to attend Mathnasium a minimum of 3 days a week, but that might just be the needs of my kids.
Mathnasium has provided our son with the support he has needed to succeed in AP Math this year. It has filled in the foundational material gap when he advanced into Math 1 in 8th grade, skipping Math 8.
