I wanted a gift different from the usual flowers people send and came across this. I ordered last minute before Thanksgiving Day and was concerned about them arriving on time (I’m in TEXAS SENDING TO MD). Not only did they arrive on time, my friend loved everything from the brownies, jelly beans, to the cookies (especially the custom written cookie). She FaceTimed me to show me and they were beautifully made. The owner also called and left me a wonderful voicemail (something unheard of these days). I will be using his coming again for all my family and friends in Maryland and would highly recommend his store, the care to the details to the customer service is a complete package of kindness and professionalism. I absolutely love the cookies by design here in Fort Lauderdale. They are always a huge hit and they are delicious, the service is wonderful, and they always make a terrific gift.

I think service is always great. But…..the cookies are delicious! I had a friend of mine send cookies to a friend! She never heard of them before.

I ordered a bouquet for a friend who had been in the hospital for over a week. It was delivered on a Monday. I know that hospitals have a lot more pressing things to do, so I figured it would take a while to make its way to her. When the next day came, I was surprised to hear that she had not received them and elated that she was soon to be discharged!
It turns out, the bouquet wasn’t even brought up to her floor until over 24 hours after they were dropped off, and at that point she had been discharged.
I called the hospital and asked if I could retrieve them somehow. They told me they would hold onto them for 24 hours. This hospital was at least an hour away, so I wasn’t sure what to do and in a last ditch effort, I called Cookies by Design and started with, “THIS IS NOT YOUR FAULT, but have you guys ever had this before?” She was incredibly kind and we were troubleshooting options… maybe an Uber would do it, courier, etc. I was thinking about how I could rearrange my day to drive down there when she suggested that she could see if they had any drivers in the area of the hospital that could pick them up who might also be coming somehow in this direction. I was encouraged, and happy to pay if this was an option, so she took my name and I waited for a call back.
It didn’t take long and she called me back to report that, instead of doing that, they would generously remake the bouquet and redeliver it to my friends home and they would only ask me to pay the delivery fee again.
I was shocked and thrilled! This was not Cookies by Design’s fault. They even put on their checkout that hospitals may or may not guarantee patient delivery, especially given covid protocols, etc., and I knew that when I submitted the sale. They did what they were supposed to do.
I also couldn’t very well get mad at a hospital whose primary job is actually much more important than prioritizing ’get well’ deliveries. So after paying the redelivery, which felt like a huge win since it would have cost me way more to retrieve them any other way, I also had the thrill of calling the nurses station and telling them they they could keep the bouquet and share it across the nurses station. It was so warm and fuzzy to share that with the team who I am sure took amazing care of my friend while she was in their care.
Meanwhile, her new bouquet was delivered to her home and look and taste fabulous.
As someone who has worked in Customer Care for many years, I appreciate when a company goes above and beyond, even more so when they don’t have to.

I contacted Cookies by Design to inquire whether my delivery date could be changed, as I feared I would not be home when the delivery arrived. While I was on the phone with the store, my delivery arrived! The store manager was courteous and concerned that I was satisfied with the delivery. I should also mention that since receiving a cookie basket as a gift about a year ago, I have placed several orders myself and the cookies are always well packaged, fresh and delicious.

Thank you very much for delivering the cookies on a day when the store was actually supposed to be closed. This is definitely going the extra mile for the client! I appreciate your help with the surprise.

They accommodated me on delivery since my pick up date was Saturday but told me last minute they were closed from Thursday on due to Thanksgiving. Cookies looked fantastic but for me was not thrilled with taste. Not sure when cookies were baked, how old they were by time I received.
