As someone new to fitness and on a journey to improve my health, I’ve been particularly drawn to the beginner Pilates classes — they’re the perfect starting point, welcoming and well-structured without being overwhelming.
The gym itself is fresh, clean, and well set up, and the variety on offer means there’s something for everyone, whether you’re just starting out or already well into your fitness journey.
Highly recommend Housed Gym to anyone looking for a supportive environment to kick-start or level up their health goals!
I’ve really been enjoying the variety of classes at Housed, including mat Pilates, reformer Pilates, and strength training. The sessions are well-structured and suitable for different fitness levels.
All the trainers are friendly, supportive, and genuinely motivating—they encourage everyone to push to their limits while still making sure you feel comfortable and confident. It’s a great environment to train in, and I always leave feeling stronger and more energized.
Friendly, clean, not too crowded.
Love the strength program that builds week on week and means I don't have to think about anything I just have to turn up. Would love another option though maybe 8am class as the midday we are often sharing. Miss Roul!!!

I love, love, love Housed! The Five Dock studio has excellent parking at the rear convenient class times and the instructors are all top-notch. What's more all this comes at a very reasonable price.
The amenities, and the staff who work there are great. The PT’s are awesome also - call out to Maddy.
The only thing we need is maybe a clean up walk around every couple of hours? Weights are continually left over the place, and perhaps some courtesy education for users ie, clean up your mess!
Every instructor is knowledgeable, gives clear and easy to follow instructions with appropriate breaks from doing so. Every class is unique. I learn how to apply reformer in a different way each and every class. The instructed class is very enjoyable, relaxing but yet I've built strength and am challenge every class. I absolutely love Housed in Chatswood.
I enjoy all the classes and have access to different teachers with different style of teaching! It is never boring or repetitive!
Very clean and really has what you need at a gym
I love Housed Macquarie! It’s generally very clean, and i love that it’s rare to wait for a machine due to there being 2 campuses.
The only issue I have is the cleanliness/ smell of the women’s bathrooms in campus 2, particularly upstairs, but still including downstairs.
Lots of classes to choose from
It's an awesome gym, not only becuase of brand new and state of art equipments but the quantity of them as well. There are loads of spaces and multiple similar equipments so I don't feel like I ever have to wait and queue for a machine for the routine I need to do. The staff are generally friendly as well. Have recommended to a few of my friends and they all want Housed to open near them.
Can come or go as many or as few sessions as makes sense. Varied equipment and good access to cleaning wipes. Campus 1 upstairs doesn't have enough lockers and there are always a few which don't lock properly. Campus 2 has a good supply of lockers. Staff responsive to reports of equipment not working.

An amazing amount of equipment, space and facilities for such a low price and no lock-in contract. I have been with Housed Macquarie since just after it opened, and I have never even thought about switching gyms. The community, staff, and equipment are all amazing, the facilities look aesthetic, and somewhere I am proud to show off and recommend to my friends and family. Only improvement is that the loose items like resistance bands, weight belts and barbell pads seem to have slowly disappeared over the span of a year, having none at all now. Also, it would be nice to maybe have some boxing / MMA heavy bags and maybe some gymnastic or jiu jitsu mats in one of the spare campus 2 rooms (that one is just my personal agenda though). Love all you guys at the gym and thank you for making such an amazing space for everyone and not exploiting its increasing popularity to raise the price significantly or introduce 18 month lock ins like anytime. <3
Overall the gym & facilities are great however some small changes would drastically improve this:
-Greenery to the wellness suite
-More frequent reviews of the lockers - most of them are not able to be locked much of the time with codes needing to be re-set by staff OR batteries requiring replacement
-Doors to main campus bathrooms closed - the smell from the male bathrooms is always horrendous when walking past
