This job has been life changing for my growth In my career I am so excited to see how far I go!
Sportclips has been so welcoming to me in a time where I needed it most! I think the pay, the mission behind Sportclips, and all the avenues for mental health help is absolutely wonderful! I’ve never had a workplace actually CARE about mental health or offer any avenues to help with that! I’m learning so much and progressing daily I can’t wait to see how far I can go in industry!
I feel like most people in management genuinely care. The money and clients are there. I just always come back
Because I was completely lied to when interviewed and told about the job. I was lied too about the pay, and it was impossible to make the pay extras. When our store was dead, we never got our product and our managers lied about it
It’s been wonderful I have learned so much and I can’t wait to see what places the barbering route takes me!
There is no manager at our location. Team lead seems to be a bit stuck-up. It doesn't seem like they genuinely care about their stylist who actually makes the money for the stores. Backbar is steady slacking, the communication between locations and upper management is not good. There is steady customers and money though
The pay scale is hard to hit
When we are low on the products ppl want
I enjoy working for sport clips. I definitely think there could be more organization at this specific store. There is no manager at the store at the moment and it does seem to flow pretty well. However, it seems that some of the stylist come and go as they please. Which is great for the reliable stylists paycheck, but it is physically laboring.
There are adjustments that could be made, but I still very much enjoy going into work. It still is the best salon company I've worked for because I know if I have any issues I can contact Sydney. There just needs to be a manager is all. A lot of the stylist slack on their cleaning duties at the end of the shift. Which makes some of the stylist take on a manager role they shouldn't have to play. It is what it is. Overall I still would recommend this company for another stylist because the upper management really does care.
Policies mean nothing ,I watch stylist alter their tickets I order to hit goals , everyone does whatever they wan there are stylist that ever work weekends or late nights and there is currently no manager because they finally got rid of the old manager after two months of telling upper stepped down to another one who is taking a position to terminate her she was moonlighting and previous upper management just left everything slide. You don’t get an answer from them you can contact their HR they don’t respond. They basically fraudulently do not give referral bonuses to their employees. The biggest mess of a salon I’ve ever worked in and I’ve worked in a lot in 42 years. They need to get an auditor in there because those people are thieves.
It's a great company to work for as a stylist. It is not for slower stylists. If you slack in being slow or selling product then you will never hit the star levels to get paid more. As a manager they put your salary on how much the store makes per week. It doesn't matter if you're a hard worker they don't compensate for overtime or hitting star levels.

I do love my job. The craft itself brings me a lot of joy. There has been so many iseues with a particular coworker that hasn't been resolved. There is a lot of tension between us and I dont feel like it's been taken care of professionally at all. One of the things that's always brought me back to Sport Clips is the compassion of their stylist and management. This has made it pretty unbearable at times.
