Our kids had a great week. It was the first time that went to sleep away camp and both came back wanting to go again next year

What do you like about your Fairview Lake YMCA Camps - Specialty Camps experience?

My daughter said she had a great time. She loved her counselors the activities and food. This was my daughters first time at camp. Feedback from us the parents, we never received mail from our daughter - she said she didnt have time. Feedback from us the parents, as a first time sleep away camp parents - we did no see pictures of our daughter. We saw only a few and most she was hidden. This did not give us peace of mind as we were already anxious about the experience. Proof of life and well being pictures are NEEDED. LOL Maybe, give all the children disposal cameras so they can take pics of each other and the pictures can be uploaded daily. Overall, I was not comfortable that I did not have an after hours NON URGENT mechanism to reach my child/counselor. Overall, the experience seemed to be a happy & positive one for my daughter.

What do you like about your Fairview Lake YMCA Camps - Specialty Camps experience?

Wonderful experience for my teenage daughter, who (sometimes) is impossible to please. She came home filled with stories and great experiences, and cannot wait to head back to camp next year.

My son was in Taste of Tradition and had an amazing time - his counselors were great and he really enjoyed it! He will be back next summer.

What do you like about your Fairview Lake YMCA Camps - Specialty Camps experience?

My daughter was really reluctant to go to sleepaway camp for the first time, and especially for two weeks. But when I picked her up, she didn't want to go home! She made such wonderful friends and wonderful memories. She loved her counselors and trying to many new activities. She wants to go back for 3 weeks next summer, and her younger siblings also want to go. Thank you for a great experience!
