For starters, it's within 1000 feet of my apartment. Nice assortment of equipment, although maintenance could be a bit better. I'm new, so still comparing it to Rex Wellness off Lake Boone, where I used to go. Had a great group of friends who regularly hung out at a lounge area just outside the workout area. Nothing quite like that at Finley.
Relationships you build w other members and staff
Classes are great. Indoor and outdoor pools are enormous. I especially like the yin yoga classes. Help is there when you need it. Facilities are clean and well kept. Friendly folks. Our kids loved doing sports there when they were growing up and had great coaches.
Love Dan and Lisa running pickleball and the pickleball community at Finley. Great showers, pool and sauna. Nice staff.
Friendliness of the staff
I love that there are both indoor and outdoor pools and that the outdoor pool stays open into the fall depending on the weather. I enjoy the new hair blowers. I enjoy the diversity of members and that scholarships are offered. I appreciate the service projects and partnering done with kindred spirited organizations. I respect the long time staff and the younger members energy. I like that there is care offered so that parents may work out. It would also be great to work toward respite care for parents of children with special needs so that their parent/parents may also work out. I would like to see more day trips for the senior members to enjoy. I like the occasional social event or luncheon.
Communication is great, pickup is simple, and my son has a fun time playing after school. It's been a good experience thus far.
Great location, great classes, and friendly staff. I always enjoy my visits and feel healthier and happier because I worked out at theYMCA.
I learn new strength training techniques through my interaction with other members. The 5 am crowd is a tight-knit group that looks out for each other, and conversations don't always revolve around "gym talk."

The people I Meet. The staff at the desk. The instructors I work with in classes and programs. The diversity in abilities, age, smiles, helpfulness when I don’t understand, and of course good humor.
Well I like it so much I keep referring people to try a class or come to a program!

The friendly and caring staff such as LisaS the indoor pool instructor. She is the best and you can see and feel her genuine spirit and concern for the members health and wellbeing
My top enjoyment at Finley Y is the Thrive classes. I enjoy other classes too. Most of the instructors are great. The facility is clean, spacious, and functional. The staff is friendly, helpful and hard working. The location is convenient for me. The vibe is energetic and upbeat. The outdoor pool is large and awesome (but the music is a bit too loud out there for my taste). I appreciate the variety of classes offered at the Y (yet I would love to see more Thrive classes - especially classes offered in the morning)

I've been a member at the Finley YMCA for over 20 years. Friendly staff. Excellent equipment. Super Clean. Not all Y's are the same. This is one of the best in the US. Thanks for all that you do to support members.
