Member Testimonials
The people
Mostly very nice folks attend the Y! Sharing and caring is common. Staff are very supportive of the members and seem to take pride in their work. Our family's health is better, thanks to the Y.
Friendly
The environment is laid-back, congenial unlike some other high intensity fitness clubs who push membership sales, apparel purchase, etc. while constantly blaring loud music on their sound system. This local style attitude is reflected in the friendly, helpful staff who are always willing to accommodate member’s needs, requests. As with every organization, the quality of their member service starts at the top. The Kaimuki/Waialae YMCA is fortunate to have an excellent leader in EE Soo. Besides possessing the qualifications required of the director, she demonstrates tremendous people skills. I have observed her treating everyone, both colleagues and member clients, with respect and aloha whenever I’m working out.
Convenient location from home and work.
Well maintained facilities. Friendly and professional staff. Community supporting environment. Comprehensive and practical programs, classes, and activities. Efforts to maintain affordable membership costs.

Great venue with lots of activities to choose from. Nice staff and happy members. Thank you.
I love how great they are with the kids. The instructors meet the needs of each child. And, they’re very honest in their assessments. The sessions are short and effective.
Friendly people, functioning rowing machine.
A smallness that encourages friendliness and a feeling of community. Caring staff, a variety of activities & classes for seniors. Have made wonderful friends here. Thank you, Kaimuki Y.
Staff is helpful. Lots of activity options
The class sizes are small enough for the kids to learn how to swim. My kid really enjoy going †o swim class.
Great class!
Pool is heated. On the last day, they brought out a raft and had kids practice "falling out" of the raft and swimming back to safety.
The open communication the k trusties have with parents. And my sons ability to swim .
Classes offered both Online and Inperson
The instructors try their best to teach kids and answer parents' questions
Ms. Hailey is a phenomenal swim instructor and shows great care to not only my son but to the other children.
Nice welcoming group of people, great instructor Rosalie Middleton.
Friendly staff, choices of classes,
Varieties of classes and classes for the whole day so people can choose the slot to attend the classes. Wish they have mid afternoon classes though.
My daughter has been taking classes for the past year now and I see the progress she has made every time she passes a level and that is because of the coaches. They are so great and patient with the kids. They teach them great techniques and I appreciate the way they helped our kids grow with water. I definetely recommend this location and this course to anyone.
Love the instructors.
Nice facilities and our teacher was amazing!
Great instructor, ms. Natalia. Convenient. Heated salt water pool. Only thing I would change is I wish they taught baby how to go under water.
Student teacher ratio of 3:1 was good
They're great about giving papers to show when the next sign up is. Instructors are much better at handling the students. Nuuanu was awful, so glad we switched!

The facility is small but the staff work to make every square inch useable. It’s close to where I live and offers classes that I’m interested in. Additionally, it’s smaller so I got to know my fellow class participants on a more personable level.
