Pball in the winter at Ycenter gives anyone who wants to play learn from the best and play with nicest people.
Wonderful pickleball facilities. Friendly staff!
Pickleball
It’s safe and fun! My kids have absolutely loved the open gym times. It’s our favorite part of our membership so far.
Great coaches!!! Great team!!! Couldn't ask for a better experience for my kids not only having fun but mastering a life skill.
We have had a wonderful experience with the swim team. My son loves all of the coaches and loves this sport. Of course we could use updated and a better pool. It would be so nice to have facilities like the other YMCAs we swim at throughout the state and have meets in Eau Claire. It would also be very nice to have meets that are closer. I understand that we likely will have to travel some to have some good competition, but I am sure there are closer meets that are still competitive (like in the twin cities, Rochester, MN, Rice Lake, Duluth, etc). I want these opportunities for my children but the time and fees with these far away meets is tough on families. I truly believe we would have a better turn out for all ages at meets if they weren't so far away.
I do wish my son would get more individualized technical coaching at practices. I completely understand practices are very chaotic with so many kids and it is impossible to give special attention to just a few people during practices but it is also challenging for families to try and schedule extra individual or group lessons outside of practice times that cost more money. Perhaps we could figure out a way to help kids either during practice or before/after practices to work on technique? Or another way to do this? Just a thought.
Additional training outside of the pool would be helpful too; like lifting/mobility training for swimmers to build muscle but also to prevent injury. For the older kids, a few lessons on sports nutrition might also be helpful so they can learn how to fuel their bodies. Coming from a non-sports person to trying to help my son who loves swimming it is just hard to know how to make him the best swimmer he can be.
After all of the things stated above, I still very highly recommend this swim team and glad we are apart of it.
We love the fact that it is right at our kiddos school. The teachers are kind and considerate. We also use additional YMCA programs and activities.
Good people. Nice coaches who care about the athletes.
I am so happy we signed our son up for swim team. It has helped him gain confidence. His instructors were so patient with him. We look forward to spring clinics!
Chippewa falls ymca is amazing. Great, caring wonderful people! I would recommend your amazing swim team, lessons, clincs to all. They definitely love all people. With no judgement.
Growing swim team, the camaraderie, and positive character building!
I like the caliber of the swim. I live in Eau Claire so I like when practices are in EC for both Silver and Gold. As a parent, it is very hard to get one child to CF and one to EC on the same night 4 days a week.
We enjoyed the season, coaches, and opportunities.
The kids love the program, they stay active and never get bored with activities.
They are set up to give kids a chance to play, growing their love for the activity. All skill levels can participate and enjoy.
We love all the programs at the Y! My kids love gymnastics and basketball as well as staying busy all summer at the Sports Center Summer Camp!!
The pool
Trustworthy staff and a variety of programs for kids of all ages.
The sports center being open on Fridays has been so helpful for my very active 10 year old during the winter. We love having a consistent space to meet up with friends and let kids just be kids.
all athletes are treated fairly
love pickleball opportunities - don;t like that Y members have to pay an additional amount. we pay enough as a member.
Great place for the kids
Absolutely love the YMCA youth basketball program. This is our second year doing it and we couldn't imagine a basketball season where our son didn't participate in this league. Thank you to the refs that stop and coach the youngest kids and for organizing everything so nicely.
Great way for kids to socialize and exercise and gain a sense of self confidence great coaches and opportunities
Love the staff in the morning for pickleball.
Affordable, close by, like the length of programming. Allows kids to explore many interests over the years. So appreciate having the YMCA in Eau Claire.
Really appreciate the Friday nights at LE Phillips. My son has been going regularly for the past two years and is a super way to blow off energy as we head into the weekend.
It was casual, friendly and so fun!
Friday family nights are free with membership now.

Family Fun Zone - it would be cool if it was available on Wednesdays too.
