The Camp counselors always remember my kids, which is really giving a home away from home experience. My kids love the nature emersion and i love the media detox!
My son had great time at summer camp this year.
My daughter has enjoyed multiple camp programs at Fairview Lake, but ETC (or now, ATC, although she preferred the ETC name) is her favorite. It is the most outdoorsy, which is a good fit for her, but the traditional camp would be better for kids who don't want to "rough it" as much.
Fun activities , close friendships
They have a variety of activities and the kids love it. However. The check in process needs to change there is no reason to sit in line in your car for over an hour when we don’t even need to check in down at regular camp. An hour is absolutely insane. The old process worked just fine.
Jack had a great time at camp. He loved the wide variety of activities and really bonded with his group.
experience was pretty seamless. we were able to book a 2 week session last minute. he loved the camp.
My son thrives in the outdoors. We are blessed to have found a summer experience for him that grows with him from year to year. The ETC program offers a mix of base camp fun and challenging hikes and tours, allowing him to find his own comfort level as he encounters new expeditions. The days of "grounding" speak volumes on his return. I equate it to a peace of heart. The ETC camp brings him closer to nature and connects him deeper into his own abilities. And we have all this while he is in a safety net of the trained leaders and counselors around him. We are grateful and look forward to continued years of fun and true adventuring. We applaud the creative, caring program that Fairview Lake Camp has created and encourage other adventuring children to join in the fun.
ETC was my first experience for a sleep away camp. There are activities throughout the day. From hiking, canoeing, ax throwing and making new friends from literally all over the world.
Challenging, adventurous, builds confidence and problem solving skills. Very solid director and counselors. My son has been coming for years and it’s his favorite part of summer.
I love that my son gets to explore the wild while building relationships with his peers and confidence in himself. He loves sleep away camp just for the adventure of it all! This was his first year in ETC and he was nervous about it all year long. He expressed a lot of concern about fact that this time, camp involved actual camping and a more rugged experience. I reminded him that all the things he loved about camp were still there. Flash forward to his first day back from ETC and all that concern had been washed away. It was everything I expected and he was converted to an ETC lover. The challenge of a more complex sleep away experience was just the thing he needed as he started his transition from little boyhood to medium boyhood (though he claims to be a teenager, I like to remind him, that doesn't start for a few more years). What a great time he had and will continue to have for years to come!
Hi my son loved it. He said he felt relaxed. He wants to be a counselor in training. He has asked me often about whether he can go back to camp next year. He wants to spend time in nature. He came back more mature than ever. He showed me the plaque that depicted the trip. He developed a love for the Delaware River.
My son loved Fairview Lake YMCA Camps. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly and run a great program for teens where they actually get the kids doing amazing things outdoors and interacting with each other. I can't recommend it enough.
The giant swing!
The camp staff was awesome. The kept the kids busy doing all of the things that they wanted to do. From fishing to sailing all around great week
My daughter loved her first sleep away camp experience. Even during the heat wave where I thought she’d be happy to get picked up she was actually sad to leave friends. I did wish she was in a group with more kids her age as she was one of oldest kids there.
She said the food was great as well lol and wants to go back next year.
Fun, safe, variety of activities—-fantastic staff!!!! My kids love it!
I liked the activities and the friendships that I formed. The food was pretty good, too!
Harper had an absolutely great week at the ETC camp. She loved all of the activities, the interactions with the other campers and counselors, and unplugging for a week. Particular highlights were the hikes, archery, paddleboarding, the overnight camping (especially the campfire apple s'more), and candle-making.
My daughter loved the activities & making new friends!
From start to finish, they excelled. Variety of Experiences in ETC was incredible. So pleased. Brendan is an excellent leader.
The counselors are excellent. They dont just teach, but take care of the kids. This is my third year at different sleepover camps, and this one was the best in terms of allowing kids to experience nature, get them healthy, and off screens. Some camps give that nature experience, but dont tell kids to go to bed early or to brush their teeth. My boys came home from a camp in Lake George ill because they were allowed up until 11:30pm and got up at 6am. They were sick for a week after. This camp is so fun, so many adventures and quality kids!
From my 13 year old son: The fun activities; how nice the counselors are; knowing what the schedule is and the schedule being flexible; the campers being good people; the counselors being understanding. I especially liked sailing and hiking and the giant swing and swimming and korkles.
As a parent - my son thoroughly enjoyed his two week ETC camp and I loved all the photos that were shared. In them I could see how much he was enjoying himself and how bonded the group became over that time. The director of ETC is clearly caring and passionate about the program - and does everything he does very well! I loved all of the activities they did and seeing my son explore everything that was offered.
it was fun and well organized
