We love the weekly themes and all the outdoor time! I love that you guys integrate other pieces of the community such as the splash pad, coast guard festival kids day etc...
We live in Grand Rapids, but our boys LOVE Tri-Cities Y camp, so they spend a week with their grandparents so they are able to go each year!
My son loved the camp counselors and the activities.
My daughter had such a good summer at the camp and really loved the activities and playing with the other kids. She told me she wants to be a counselor when she's in high school.
That you offer the 1:1 counselor option for kids with special needs
The team was so great! Our kids had so much fun with the different themes each week. Their confidence in swimming from daily swimming lessons really amazes my husband and I. We look forward to next summer!!!
Programming activities to keep kids active and engaged. Opportunity for kids to improve/learn new skills like swimming and try new things like soccer and tennis without a year long commitment.
Flexible drop off and pick up.
We loved the day camp at the Y! The kids always had stories about fun activities they did and new things they learned. We love that it’s all outside and the themes with activities are so creative! We will definitely be back!
There is so much to love about the "Y" and the full day camps. I love that the kids are outside almost all day. I love the included swim lessons. I love that they include educational/ STEM components and reading into the daily activities. Most importantly we love the staff and counselors.
Summer camp
We loved the summer camps my daughter participated on this summer. I do not remember the camp coaches names, but they were incredible (full day 4 year old). The two ladies leading it, were 5 stars, SO on top of it! So responsive, so good with the kids, so responsible. I can’t say enough. I really felt that I could trust them with my daughter. The kids will be back next summer!

My daughter Lucy has been attending summer camp at the Y since she was in Kindergarten and she is now 10 years old. We first found out about camp through Lucys ASD teacher at school. Lucy started out out camp through the summer camp experience through Grand Valley State University. Lucy is high functioning Autistic and so her abilities and the way she thinks is a little different from others. The Y has allowed Lucy to come out of her shell and become more social and making friends. In a few short years Lucy was fully integrated and didn't need to have her own camp counselor at all times. We are so thankful for Y as it has been a wonderful experience for our family. Lucy as just recently finished her first season of Girls on the Run through the Y and again it was another great experience.
