However -- I have notified of broken hair drier in the women's bathroom several times and there is no correction.
Also no soap in the handicap shower.
So, my hope is that there is a better method for monitoring and overseeing repairs in a more timely manner.
The Kirk Family Y feels comfortable and inviting. It is a more intimate setting than most YMCAs. The staff always seems friendly and I very much enjoy the diversity.
The space is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. Makes workouts for me and my family a wonderful experience!
We like yoga, Pilates, TRX classes. Besides these classes, I like to exercise on some machines on 3rd floor. Desk clerks are very co-operative and friendly..Surya & Tina
Facility is spacious, clean, has all the equipment one could possibly need and staff very helpful and kind. I’m new to Y since 30 years ago. Everyone that I’ve asked for assistance has helped me right there in the moment. I will say Zoe has gone above and beyond assisting me. I’m determined to continue at Y and in my home to keep active, mobile and regain upper body strength. I’m also a disabled VET. I mentioned this to Zoe, each time I’m there Zoe comes to whatever equipment I’m on to check on me and sets equipment for me so I won’t fail. She’s AWESOME and I can tell she genuinely cares.
The number of amenities you offer, the affordable price, the staff/class teachers are very friendly
We go for lap swimming and building strength on the third floor. We were glad to find the pool open between 11 and 12 yesterday (Monday) but we thought the online calendar had it open after one.
We appreciate the friendly staff and patrons. We hope the wringer in the ladies shower is fixed soon.
I love that the YMCA appeals to everyone of my family. My husband and I are in our 50s and then we have four kids age of 17 to 25. There is something for everyone of us! And my kids were younger we loved being able to at the daycare as well. I like the classes!!!
Everything! The classes, coaches, facility, and equipment. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the gated parking is great.
I like that there is a pool, and how childcare is an option. My favorite part is the top floor track that surrounds the basketball court.
The building is a large amount of concrete that is comparable to the Truman Sports Complex.
Front desk staff is friendly and personable.
There are plenty of treadmills and ellipticals and there is usually a squat rack or two open whenever I am there. I rarely have to wait when I am using machine weights.
The hot sauna has been amazing the last few months. Keep up the great work!
I like that the front desk staff are always on duty and attentive to Y members checking in. An available free and secure parking lot is a big plus for downtown KCMO. The facilities are always clean and fresh smelling. There's a large variety of equipment for use and plenty, so there's rarely a wait for which I want to use. The pool area is nice too with the hot tub and saunas available.

Kirk Family is the best gym membership I have had and the best YMCA I have been to by faaarrr! I am so thankful for the community here and all of the amenities. I am a mom of 2 under 2 and it's the perfect place to bring my kids, get a workout in, get to the sauna and then take the kids swimming. Not to mention the group classes included with the membership. I used to dream of a membership at Life Time fitness but I would never pay the amount they ask for a family. This YMCA has all of the amenities life time offers and its new! I could go on and on about how much I love this gym.
the only downside if the 4 hour window from 1-4 that the kids zone and the pool area is closed. If you don't have kids or come to gym around that time, no need to worry!
You get your moneys worth here, you won't regret it!
