Very comprehensive gym with virtually everything... Especially a pool! Full locker room with sauna, stream room and showers. Very clean. Great family membership price. Very nice staff and wonderful class instructors... All included, no extra fees! Where do you find that these days?!
Great gym room with lots of heavy weights (squat rack, etc.), lots of cardio equipment so it's not too crowded when I want to go, very friendly staff, and swim lessons for my daughter.

Wooden plank boards in men's sauna need to be replaced, some broke with nails sticking up, floor needs to be kept clean also. Steam room tiles falling off seating level, walls, small pieces from floor tiles chipping off guests have cut feet on, blood on floor.
Youth, not all, sitting on equipment upstairs, on cell phones, tying up equipment use. Swim cap use in pools not being enforced. Lockers, other than permanent guest, in men's locker room, being locked for multiple days by non-permanent guests, this is a recurring problem.
Other than these issues all seems fine. Staff is great!

The facility is clean and well maintained. I enjoy using the weight and circuit rooms. There are good variety of quality resistance machines that allow for a good workout. I like to see the diversity of people that attend the y.

Hi All!
Thanks for all that you do. One thing I've liked is you do a great job and knowing all of the members and I really feel like at this point, everyone knows me, which is so nice, especially after a long workday.
One idea I had is it would be nice to get to know other members who have similar things in common and are using the Y for example for like me, training for marathons and half marathons. I'd be really curious to hear what they do and even cross train together. Just an idea.
Also - for teachers - our schedules are a little different. I haven't ever done a group class yet because usually those are in the evening. I use the Y from about 4-6. I'd love if there was a spin class or other types of classes (strength for runners for ex.) in that time range! I work out on that little spin bike solo. Anyway, just an idea.

The pool!
I am a new member ( less than 1 month ) but my experience has been good ! lots of classes to choose from and weight rooms are good. Adequate number of machines for workouts.
Great pool for swim training. Added more weight equipment
Access to and variety of equipment is good. The squeaking door upon entering the building is annoying, WD 40 will fix that. It’s a clean space.
I've been going to the Montclair YMCA for decades. It's a really great part of the overall Montclair community. Plus it has good facilities. The weight room, the pool, the basketball gym, the fitness machines. All great. Keep up the good work, and keep up all the offerings for kids!

We love the lessons! Armando is excellent! The kids are growing so much while working with him, and they thoroughly enjoy the lessons.
I enjoy going here weekly. I feel like it is a clean and safe environment. The only problem I would say is the parking garage. It is very narrow going up and down and hard to get out of at times because of how narrow it is. I also was confused about the one way at first. Overall, I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone.
